I Walked back and forth in my medium sized bedroom thinking of how to get my husband back, but I need to have a plan.
My mind was blank and nothing was coming through, how was I supposed to make a plan that way.
That's it! I thought of a way. Amina had once told me that one of the easiest ways to a man's Heart is by always being there for him. But how do I do that when we are so far from each other?
I put my plan in motion by monitoring Jamals movement. From the time he goes out, when he comes back, which parts of the house he stays, when and how he eats. I made a mental note of all those things.
********
It was the first day of putting my plan in action, I couldn't help but feel anxious for the fear of what he'd do or say to me. I just pray to Allah that all goes well.I strolled to the side of the main house and waited for him to come out before going out into view.
When he saw me I bet a million thoughts flooded his head. That's probably because of what I was wearing, I wore a skin tight silk gown with a small head wrap and a big veil which I let fall off completely when I was standing in front of him. A man can never ignore a woman's body not unless he has the fear of God and I doubt very much he does.
He looks like a man for the women but I'm not bothered because men are polygamous in nature. There's only one woman i cant share him with, and that's Bahijja. It can be anyone but not her.
I quickly picked up my veil and wrapped it shyly around my body
'Fool' I muttered under my breath, I could totally see him drooling.
'Why are you out, I thought we had an agreement? ' he asked after clearing his voice.
'I have an emergency to attend to so I had to quickly rush out, I'm sorry for breaking the rules' I lied
'I hope everything is okay?' He sounded concerned.
'It's nothing that would concern you' I said and walked past him giving him the perfect view of my back.
Rule 1: Never give the man you want the opportunity to walk ahead of you or he'll never know what he's missing!
My heart almost stopped beating from the show I put on there. I know it was too early to conclude but it looked like it would be easy getting him.
I heard loud noises coming from the main house and I thought it was a fire or something so I took my veil and ran out but Seeing that no one came out I decided to wait for a while. It turned out that there was no fire, they were just having a fight.
Just at that moment Jamal stormed out of the house and walked towards the garden... that was my cue.I Walked towards him trying not to make any noise so he won't leave. I succeeded in seating on the chair directly behind his without him noticing.
I could hear him breathing, it was as if he just ran a race.
I waited for his breathing to calm down a bit before making my presence known.
I said 'I know you're having a tough time and I'm sure you need a shoulder to cry on, you can always count on me whenever you find things hard, I'll always be there for you...' I countined but he was still silent, I slowly got up and occupied the seat beside him and held his hands. They were cold and mine were warm, what a perfect match.
Rule 2: Always try to be a source of consolation for him, it works!
I think he hadn't realised what had happened because he suddenly snatched his hand and walked away.'Oho dai' I thought, 'I know you'll still come back so walk away as much as you want' I said under my breath.
*Jamals POV
I got home from a tough day at work only to see plates all around the house, I walked up to our bedroom to find clothes littered everywhere, the bathroom was a mess, there was hair all over the bathroom walls and it was wet.
Bahijja!! I shouted but she was no where to be found. I searched every corner of the house but I couldn't find her so I guessed she went out so I sat by the door waiting for her to come back.
I heard the door opening and I saw Bahijja walking in, she wore jeans and a fitted top that showed off her little figure with no scarf on her heard more or less her body.
I was infuriated, my wife was showing off her body to the entire male population but that wasn't my concern at the moment. She left the house Unattended to.
'Why did you leave the house in a mess, what if I came back with guests?' I asked without answering her greeting
'Am I your maid? If you want a clean house, get more domestic staff'
I was shocked by her reply and that was how the fight started. We broke anything breakable and turned the house upside down. I couldn't take it anymore so I walked out to avoid escalating the issue.
I sat for a while breathing hard trying to calm myself down when I heard a soft voice behind me. I didn't get most of what she said but one statement was definitely clear to me 'I'll always be there for you' that statement kept ringing in my head for while.
I hardly heard heard that from anyone, not even my wife who was supposed to be a source of continuous consolation to me.
I sat at the edge of my bed as I rubbed my hands together remembering the warmth I felt from Zahra's hands...
