I am so so so sorry for not uploading, but I was down in Arizona for my Christmas break and I didn't have any internet access :( But, on a lighter noter, I'm dedicating this chapter to alliegracesmith for commenting on every chapter in this book and pretty much every chapter in my other book :) Enjoy!

Courtney P.O.V.
Everything just seems to have a way of working out. Lily was happily dating James and I was with Sirius. The two girls who had promised eachother they would never ever date either of those two boys had broken their promises. But I couldn't help but wonder how much longer this would last. After all, Sirius had a reputation of dumping girls once he got what he wanted out of them.
I jerked myself away from my thoughts and turned back to the potion I was supposed to be working on. "Alright, everyone finish up. Ten more minutes," Slughorn called from the front of the classroom.
Lily quickly added her chopped up roots to the mixture and stirred gently, checking the potion every now and then. I glanced up and saw James and Sirius both working feverishly on their potion, Slughorn had said we could work in pairs if we wanted to. Sirius turned around and grinned at me. "Padfoot!" James exclaimed, wacking him over the head with his book. "You're supposed to be helping me!"
I had to stiffle my laughter as Sirius jumped and began hurriedly helping James fix their mess of a potion. Shaking my head, I returned to my cauldron and glanced down at the book. I pressed my silver knife down on the beans, rather than cutting them like the book said. Potions always seemed to come naturally to me, like I knew the book was wrong and what would actually make the potion perfect. After holding the squashed beans above the cauldron and allowing the juice to drip out, I began to stir the mixture, adding a counter clockwise stir every now and then. "How are you doing that?" Lily asked increduously, still trying to get her potion to become as pale as mine had.
"I dunno," I replied shrugging and bottling up some of my potion. "You can use some of my potion if you want."
"But that's cheating," Lily whispered softly, glancing up at Slughorn.
"So? Who cares?"
She shot me a glare and proceeded to grabbing her ladle to pour some of her potion into her vial. "I'd prefer to get credit for the work I've done rather than for a stolen bit of potion from someone else."
"It's not stealing if I offer it to you," I pointed out smugly before grabbing Lily's vial from her and dumping some of my potion in. "We wouldn't want Slughorn to think you're losing your touch now would we?"
Lily rolled her eyes and snatched the vial back, but didn't pour my potion out. "This still feels wrong."
I waved my hand dismissively and said, "You can just do my Ancient Runes homework or something. I'm not picky."
"Bring your samples up to the front of the classroom please," Slughorn called. I quickly stood and hurriedly wrote my name on the top of my bottle before bringing my potion up front. "My, my, Miss Daniels. This is very impressive. Excellent work, you can expect full marks for this one," he said, winking at me as I handed him my vial.
"Oh..um..thank you, sir," I said politely, turning to go but running smack into someone. Curse me and my clumsiness. And, as is turns out, that someone was Amy. She yelped and dropped her vial which shattered and splattered all over me.
"Courtney!" she screeched, scrambling around, trying to pick up the glass pieces. "You made me drop my potion!"
I began to get angry and yelled back, ignoring the pain in my arms and legs as the potion began to spread, "You prat! All you care about is dropping your stupid potion!"
