Me and My Twelve Brothers

Chapter 2

I woke up without anybody slapping my face. I brushed my teeth and took a shower. I walked outside and I heard screaming and people having fun. I walk towards the sound which was behind our house and saw eleven boys swimming around in a pool. Our pool was big and it had a waterslide.

Felix looked at me from the diving board "Morning, Mackenzie Maddison Romana Willman." Then dove into the water. I didn't know our house had a flippin' pool. Instantly I went back to my Girl Cave and grabbed my bubblegum pink bikini. Then, I cannonballed into the pool. Zack and Zayn were holding water guns and squirting everyone. We spent an hour there in the pool before Mom came and told us to get dressed "I have guests coming today" she said. I put on a black t-shirt and jean shorts. I dry my hair and put it in a bun and slip on my best Converse. I then walk into the kitchen where Mom is cooking.

"Who's coming?" I asked. She turns off the stove "My coworker and his family. They live right across the street." Wait, did she say her coworker was a man. She better not is thinking what I'm thinking. But, eventually I hear our doorbell ring and I open it. I see a middle-aged man wearing a dress shirt tucked in his dress pants and he's wearing dress shoes. He really knows how to make a good first impression. Behind him is a girl that looks about my age. She has red hair and green eyes. She's wearing a blue dress and blue flats. Then, there's a boy who looks older than me. He has Black hair dyed red on the tips and he wears a leather jacket, ripped jeans, and black combat boots. Then, there's a little girl with red hair put in pigtails.

The man holds out his hand and I shake it. "My name is Mr. James Harrison and this my daughter Ruby." he pointed at the girl my age "This is my youngest child Ava and my only son Carter." I couldn't help but see Ruby glaring at me from the corner of her eye. Then, my mom comes up from behind me.

"Hi Mr. Harrison, I see that you met my daughter Mackenzie." she said, "Come in, come in". The Harrisons walked in and I saw Ruby's face change. She was looking at my eleven brothers that were sitting on the couches. Ruby looked at everyone but her eyes stayed on my triplet brother Nicholas. She whispered to me"Is this your family?" she asked. I nodded in response.

"Everyone meet Mr. Harrison and his children. Ruby, Ava, Carter please meet my children."

We all lined up in the order we were born to greet the Harrisons. When it was my turn, Ruby only smiled at me. Then came Nick and Ruby shook his hand for a rough ten seconds.

"Now that we know each other, let's have dinner outside" Everyone walked outside by the pool and my mom did a pretty good job setting up. She had 4 fold- tables connected to make one table. I sat down on a table between Nick and Felix my triplets. My mom gave everyone a disposable plate with a hamburger on it. My mom makes the best hamburgers. She gave Ruby her hamburger and Ruby shook her head "Sorry Mrs. Willman, I don't eat meat. I'm a vegetarian."

"I'm a vegetarian my ass," I muttered under my breath causing Nick and Felix to burst into laughter. Mom only smiled "I can give you a salad," said my Mom.

"That'd be great" responded Ruby. My mom walked back into the house. "So what did you do this summer, Mackenzie," said Ruby her eyes looking at Nick.

I didn't say anything "I went to Hong-Kong and then I went to Germany, then Paris, then London." I only nodded. I honestly didn't care where this chick went for her summer. I just wanted her to leave. Her brother, however, was an angel. He was absolutely hot and was sitting right next to Ruby. He hadn't said anything this entire time. Ruby was talking about how she won the lottery to meet the president and I was zoning out. It was at least two hours before Mr. Harrison wanted to leave.

"Wait I was wondering if you would want to swing by again Ruby. I want you and Mackenzie to go shopping for school supplies together since you both are ninth graders at Whittletake Academy." Mom had told me about the school once. All I know is that it's a prestigious all grade school. So my whole family is going there. I don't even know how I got in. Ruby thinks about it for a second and then she accepts the offer. Before they leave Ava gives Zack and Zayn a hug. Then Carter turns around and winks at me. If I wasn't blushing then, I was definitely blushing.

Ruby grabbed my hand and dragged me across the store. We were at the mall today and Daniel was in the car waiting. I had my supply list in one and my bag on the other. Right now, were at some school uniform shop that Whittletake recommended for us to get our uniforms here. Eventually, we get our uniforms and head to the food court. Ruby stops to smile and wave at a group of girls sitting at a table.

Ruby turns to me "Those are my friends from Whittletake Academy." she said putting an emphasis on friends "Is it ok if I talk to them?" she asked. I nod my head and watch her leave, I grab my shopping bags and walk out to the parking lot where I see Danny on his phone. "Hi, Daniel."

"Where's Ruby" I put my stuff in the trunk and slide in the passenger's seat next to Daniel.

"She wanted to leave with her friends" I lied. Ruby thought I was just going to sit around and wait for her. Well, she thought wrong. I'm not the type of person to wait on somebody. I walk to the beat of my own drum. We pulled up in our house and I got my stuff and stormed inside still angry.

"Why so angry, princess." said a familiar voice. I didn't feel like talking. It was probably one of my older annoying brothers.

"F*ck off," I told them. Suddenly Axton jumped out in front of me. Axton was the oldest child in the family and moved somewhere with his girlfriend. I hadn't seen him in two months. I drop my bags and give him a tight bear hug. He was the second least annoying brother in the family. The first was Nick.

'Hey, princess long time no see" he said chuckling. "What are you doing here?" I ask him. He told me that him and his girlfriend, Lily, decided that it would be best if they moved to California with us. He and Lily are also going to stay with us until they find a decent place to live.

"I also have big news" he added. I smirked "The last time someone said that we ended up moving from New York to California and before that we ended up moving from London to New York" Did I mention that our family is British. When we spoke, we had a slight accent. Zayn and Zack had been three months old when we moved.

Axton laughed at my comment "You'll see." That night, the whole family sat in the living room including Lily who was sitting on an armchair. Axton wanted to tell us something. Even Mom didn't know what he was going to say so she was just as curious as us.

"Well, Lily and I have been dating for years now. Since my senior year at high school actually. So, I decided to move our relationship a little further and propose to her. I proposed to her last month and we're having the wedding at one of Lily's dad's beach house in California." Mom was so excited sheasked them tons of questions and wouldn't even leave them alone. I felt happy knowing tahat at least one of my brothers are going to be successful in life. The thought made me smile.
