"Reece?" I asked bewildered that this was the same guy my sister dated a little over four years ago.
"In the flesh." he said and I felt his eyes slowly rake my body. "You've grown up to be quite the beautiful lady since last I've seen you."
I felt heat rush over my cheeks and I tried my best to keep my posture professional so he can't see the effect he was having on me.
"I was thirteen since you saw me last." I said and he smiled at me.
"I know... But that innocence you had back then still lingers on you like a freshly baked pie." he said and my blush deepened.
I heard shoes crunching on the gravel of the drive way and looked to my left to see my sister rushing towards Reece. She threw her arms around him and smashed her lips against his. I felt uneasy staring at them and decided that it was my cue to leave.
"Oh my God! At least have the decency to get a room!" I yelled before I hurried back into the house with my sister's luggage and dumped it in her room.
I then walked down the stairs that led to the basement and jumped unto the couch. I slipped my phone out and saw I still didn't get a text from Bailey so I decided to call her. I dialed her number and pressed the phone to my ear and heard a few rings blare through the phone before she finally picked up.
"You called?" She asked seductively and I rolled my eyes.
"When are you getting here? My sister just arrived with Reece and it's hella awkward! I need you here Bee." I said and heard her laugh.
"I told you he's a psychopath! He even makes you feel uneasy." She said and I bit my lip.
It's not that being around Reece made me feel uneasy. It's just I haven't seen him in a few years and everything seemed so much diffrent now.
"I don't feel uneasy around him."
"Then why is it awkward for you?" She asked and I froze.
"Just get your ass over here Ross! The ice cream is melting!" I demanded and she laughed.
"I'll be there in ten. I'm just getting the last of my stuff together then I'll be on my way." She said and our conversation ended.
I relaxed on the couch waiting for Bailey to arrive and I could hear Reece and my sister talking to each other up stairs. Their voices were muffled and I couldn't quite make out what they were saying and nor did I want to. A few minutes had past and I got a text from Bailey informing me that she was on her way.
I lingered on the couch just a few seconds longer before I stood up and slowly made my way back up stairs. I was glad to notice that I was alone on this level of the house. I walked to the front door and waited a few minutes before I heard tires crushing against the gravel and I swung the door open to see Bailey getting out of her car with a single bag in hand.
"Took your damn ass time." I said and she laughed as she walked towards me.
"I needed you to suffer just a little in the awkwardness before I came to the rescue." She said and I groaned.
"Some friend you are." I said and let her in.
I closed the door behind me and walked to the kitchen to get two bowls and spoons for us to eat the ice cream out of. When I got the utensils we made our way towards the basement and Bailey threw her bag next to the couch before she sat on it.
"So... Where's Mr Evil doer?" Bailey asked and I walked towards the freezer to get the ice cream.
"Somewhere up stairs with Rachel." I informed and took a seat next to her while placing the tube of ice cream on the coffee table and popped the lid off.
