I groaned slightly as I slowly woke from my slumber. I rolled unto my back and gently peeled my eyes open to see a very familiar white ceiling above me. After a few seconds I rubbed my eyes so that my vision could adjust better and I then let out a small sigh.
Memories of last night started to pour into my brain. Flashes of the party replayed in my head and then finally came to the one where Reece and my sister fought. I frowned slightly as I remembered racing back home to try and get an explanation out of Reece, but failed. Then the memory of Reece coming into my room last night demanding me to comfort him and ended up sleeping in my room.
When that realization kicked in I immediately looked to my left and then to my right to find that I was completely alone in my room. He must've gotten up before anyone was awake to avoid any awkward questions of finding us in the same bed together.
I then let out a sigh of relief and pulled the comforter off of me before sleepily getting up on my feet and shuffling to the bathroom. I took a quick relaxing shower to wake my senses and sooth my aching body. I was definitely feeling the after affect of carrying in that keg for Bailey's party yesterday.
When I was done I quickly dried my hair and pulled on some fresh new clothes before heading down to the kitchen. When I stepped inside the kitchen I saw my mother busy reading something on her phone while leaning against one of the counters. She immediately looked up at me when I walked in and gave me a confused look.
"Phoenix? You're home early." My mom commented as I walked to the fridge and pride it open.
"Yeah, I wasn't feeling all too well and decided to come home early last night." I lied and got myself a bottle of water and closing the fridge door.
"I'm sorry sweety that sounds terrible. Was the party a bit too much?" She asked and I shook my head.
"No it was fun. I think I had too much to eat and felt a bit bloated, but I'll go back to Bailey's today to help her clean up for an apology for bailing on her so early into the party." I said and took a swing of my water and my mom gave me a smile.
"I'm sure Bailey would love a helping hand." My mom said before clearing her throat and asking me the next question. "Do you by chance know where your sister is? We were suppose to start working on her college project about an hour ago and she won't answer or return my calls."
I froze in place and looked at the clock on the wall behind my mother to see it was already ten o clock. Knowing my sister she would've been home by now probably trying to set things straight with Reece, wherever he is right now.
"Umm... She was at the party last night, but she mentioned something about sleeping over at a friends house."
It wasn't a total lie...
She was sleeping over at a friends house, but my mother didnt have to know the details and specifics. I might not be very impressed with my sister at the moment, but I still got her back.
My mother groaned in irritation and shook her head before muttering under her breath "So immature."
I then sighed and rolled my eyes.
"Mom she's safe... She'll probably be back before luch. Let her have some fun. She was cramped with work since the beginning of summer break, she needs to have a bit of time to just take a breather." I said and my mom didn't look all too happy hearing that.
"You don't understand Phoenix... She didn't do any work at all yesterday so she got her day off and she promised me that she'll be up and ready for today at nine!" my mom said.
"So what? She's just a little late. You know Rachel. She can handle anything you throw at her." I said and started making my way out of the kitchen.
