Chapter Seven
"I really can't believe you took him back," Rey muttered as he sat on the couch with his sister and Deacon, who were unnecessarily cuddling with each other.
"Yeah, I can't believe it either," Marten growled at the pair from a recliner adjacent to the couch.
The television flashed brightly in the dimly lit room, the sounds emanating from it acting only as background noise.
"Aw, don't be such a sour puss," Kat cooed at her former best friend, smiling up at Deacon again. She snuggled into his chest and curled up tighter in his lap. His firm, muscular arms tightened around her as he rested his chin on top of Kat's head.
"This is sickening," Rey and Marten sighed in unison. They glanced at each other and gagged simultaneously, breaking into laughter.
"Don't be jealous," Deacon said to the boys cracking up.
Marten abruptly stopped laughing and glared into Deacon's eyes. "I loved her first."
"Yeah, but she loves me now," Deacon teased, pulling her closer to his chest. A small smirk cracked on his lips at the angry scowl on Marten's face.
"Don't be mean!" Kat exclaimed. She threw up an arm and tried to slap Deacon with it while staring blankly at the TV. He grabbed her arm, and electric shocks shot up his arm. He gasped in pleasure and surprise, but controlled himself since there were other people in the room.
"The shocks are great, huh?" Marten monotonously asked. Deacon was still stunned from the feeling, and was having trouble not taking Kat then and there. He managed to nod and swallowed down the want building up in his gut.
"Take her," Marten said.
"Y-you don't mind?" Deacon asked, shocked yet again. Deacon could see Marten clenching his jaw. This was probably hard on him.
"She loves you," he said through his teeth. "I'm sure she wants it too."
"I hope you guys know that I'm right here!" Kat interjected.
Deacon quickly shot up from the couch and threw Kat over his shoulder. "We'll be back!" he called to the boys.
He nearly threw her into the passenger seat and hastily buckled her in. He ran around front and hopped into the driver's seat. Without bothering to buckle himself in, he pulled out of the driveway. The tires screeched against the asphalt, and they took off down the street.
Kat reached over and pulled Deacon's seatbelt across his chest and buckled him in. Her hands barely brushed against his rough, tan skin, but it was enough to make him squirm in his seat.
"Where exactly are we going?" Kat inquired after they merged onto the highway.
"My house. Not my parents', but my own house," Deacon said. His grip on the steering wheel tightened. It was difficult for him to not pull over and pounce on her.
"Um, should I ask wh-- I see," Kat said, eying Deacon's crotch. He sheepishly grinned and glanced at her.
"I realized that I never asked if you want this too."
"Oh, I want it," she deadpanned. "Maybe not as much, but yeah."
He nodded and the car was silent for a good five minutes until Kat yelled, "Holy fudge nuggets, look at the wolves!"
