I'M BACK! I know it's been FOREVER... and a day! I've been so busy, it's not even funny. But yeah! I'm not gonna bother with a recap; it isn't that hard to look back. SO YEAH! Expect more from me soon! :D And the song is pretty good! Nothing to do with the story, though. Okay, as I listen to it, the story might bend to go with the song. This one's gonna be short, but the next one is gonna be long. REAL LONG. Hahah, I said that just so I could say, "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID." :] sorry for the weirdness. READ ON!

Chapter Five
"Want some pie?" Kat asked Deacon, Marten, and Rey.
"Sure!" they replied in unison, throwing each other glares.
Kat shook her head and passed out the slices of heaven to the boys that gave her hell.
"Katty? Can I tell you something?" Marten said, breaking the awkward silence.
"Shoot."
"I... I... Uh, I sorta lied earlier. Again. W-when I said you were never my mate... I lied. You were-- and you still are! My father... He wanted me to tell everyone that Carey was my mate for the power. Even if it meant leaving you. I... I know I shouldn't have lied, but I had to! Can... Can you forgive me?"
"Wait..." Rey interrupted. "You have TWO mates? Is this possible?"
"Yes, it is very possible. But the female, Kat in this case, will have to choose. And I think choosing now would be a VERY good idea," Deacon said.
"Choose? O-one of you two? Right now? I need some time to think at least! I mean... Now?"
"No, Kat. In fifty years. YES NOW! Choose! Your heart will know. Choose." Deacon's demands dripped with venom, causing sweat to bead on her forehead.
"I... I can't."
"You can't. Well, that's interesting. Maybe I should leave. Hopefully that will help a bit."
"Dea--"
"No, no. Because apparently, I don't mean enough to you to have you choose me."
As soon as the sound of a door slamming behind Deacon echoed throughout the house, Marten sarcastically said, "Did I say something wrong?"
With a sigh, Kat trudged up to her room to get her heart to say something.
