Chapter One
It all started on her third birthday. Katty[pronounced Catty] Simmons was at lazing around the field with her two-year-old brother, Rey. All her pack was there, staring at her with cheerful expressions gleaming in their wolf eyes. Katty was getting bored, so padded up to a pond and waded in, staring at her reflection.
She was a small wolf, the same size as a common household puppy. Her lean figure was covered in orange red fur, white fur at the tip of her tail, her muzzle, her ears, and paws. Glowing, chocolate brown eyes looked back at her, and she splashed away her reflection with a paw.
At that precise second, 12:39:27, Katty shifted to a human for the first time. When she looked at the reflection again, the wolf had been replaced by a little girl with jet black, straight hair naturally streaked with the same chocolate brown as her eyes. She had slightly fluffy[or chubby] cheeks, tinted with pink, and her almond shaped eyes were framed by long eyelashes. She pursed her small lips, and looked at the unfamiliar tan hands that were paws not a second ago.
Her mother, Janie, rushed up to her and wrapped a robe around her daughter. Janie helped Katty up and sighed at the beautiful sight of her daughter.
"Tomorrow you get to go to the wolf school, Moonlight Academy!" Janie spoke to her daughter.
"Mommy, can I shift back to a werewolf?" Katty softly asked, using her voice for the first time. It was a soft, musical sound, naturally soothing and beautiful to all ears.
"Of course-"
Before Janie could finish, Katty had shifted and rushed off into her house. She thumped up the stairs and up to her room, shifting her left paw into a hand briefly to open her door. Werewolves can shift a single body part at anytime they like; they don't need to fully shift.
Katty slammed the door with a hind paw and took a look at her surroundings. Her dog bed had been replaced with a human bed, but she curled up under the covers still as a wolf. She slept and wondered how her first day at Moonlight Academy would go.

Katty padded up with her father beside her. Her father was a wolf with jet black fur that waved in the breeze. He was one of the most powerful Alphas in the area, and everyone knew it. Weres parted as Katty and Kris, her father, made their way through the crowds to the play area where Katty would be dropped off.
"When can I go home?" Katty whined a telepathic message to her father.
"When school is over," came his reply.
Katty didn't want to stay, but she had to. Kris turned to his daughter and looked her wolf in the eye.
"Katty, this is where I leave you. I want you to be a good girl now. You are an Omega, and you will be respected as one, but you still must obey your teachers. I love you, have a good day," Kris said telepathically, and giving Katty a quick lick to the face, her left.
Katty sat by herself in a corner, and she watched as all the other wolves ran around with friends from their pack. Katty was the first child of her generation to shift, and all the older kids were already in Seventh Year at M. A.
"Hi there," a voice said in her head. Katty looked up to see a wolf with a smile in their eyes. They were smaller than her, and their fur was a cream color, that shone white in the sunlight. He resembled a polar bear to her.
"I'm Marten, but weres call me Marty," they continued, their tongue lolling out.
She didn't reply.
"What pack are you from?"
"Simmons Pack."
"Wow, you're in the Simmons Pack?!" Marten squirmed with excitement.
