Chapter Four
"Oh, sure..."
Kat pounced onto Deacon's lap and eagerly slammed her lips onto his. His reaction came immediately, his hands going to her hips, pulling her closer against his chest. Her arms snaked around his neck, her fingers getting lost in his soft hair. Deacon's tongue brushed against her lips for entrance, and with pleasure, explored every bit of Kat's mouth. She moaned in satisfaction, melting against his touch. He pushed her back so that he was on top of her, his hands on either side of her head. Their lips broke apart, and they were gasping for air.
She didn't like the distance, so Kat's lips reached up to brush Deacon's cheek, sending tingled through his body. Trailing kisses down his neck, he shuddered on top of her with solace. His hands started to pull up her shirt... When Rey walked through the door.
"Hey, Kat. Dad said to- OH MY GOD!!!" Rey yelled, covering his eyes.
Deacon sat up in a flash, leaning against the wall. A blush crept up his neck, embarrassment plain on his face.
"Rey, WHAT do you want??" Kat spat.
"Dad said to go downstairs. All of Shadow Clan is down there," Rey said, still covering his eyes.
Kat rolled off the bed, landing on her feet, then striding out the door. Deacon made to follow after her, but Rey's arm went out to stop him.
"Deacon... Let's talk."
"About...?"
"About Katty. My sister."
"She's old enough to make her own decisions, Rey," Deacon sighed, annoyed that Rey was giving him "The Talk."
"But, if she goes with you, I'LL be Omega. I still have school, and Dad is thinking about stepping down THIS YEAR. I can't deal with that," Rey complained, leaning against the wall, tired already from all the responsibilities he would have.
"Rey, I know what it's like to be Omega. It can be stressing. But I know you'll make a great one, and Kat will be a great Alpha with me," Deacon soothed, giving Rey a reassuring shoulder squeeze.
"Deacon!!" Kat called from downstairs.
Without another word, he stepped out of the room to leave him to his thoughts. He walked downstairs and joined Kat in the kitchen, taking her up in a bone-crushing hug.
"They're in the backyard," she managed to breathe out.
Placing her down and taking her hand, Deacon pulled her out into the lush yard to see his whole clan staring back at him.
"Alpha Deacon," they said in unison with a bow of respect.
"Fighters, defenders, go inside. Pregnant women and children, thirteen and younger, stay put," Deacon commanded with authority in his voice.
With a nod, three-fourths of the group piled through to the backyard. The remaining people consisted of heavily pregnant women, and young boys and girls clinging to their mother, some huddled together, no parent in sight.
"Let's head out." Deacon said, and the group followed Kat and him out the front door. Everyone who could shifted into wolf form, and the kids that couldn't rode on the backs of the older children.
