Starting this off with a lame pun, welcome to the Music Consultants. Not really needing an introduction, these guys love music! So what? Well, as you often see in movies, music can set the tone and mood for a scene. It can do the same for a book.
For example, if you are writing a sword fight scene, few songs can get you as pumped up as the songs from the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack... but maybe you don't know exactly which song that one is. Maybe you want to write a party scene, which would fit your scene better, Lady Gaga or Skrillex? Or if you are writing a sad scene, you can't choose in between "My Heart Will Go On" or- I'm telling you now, the answer is the other option. As heartfelt as Celine Dion is, people will laugh because of all the spoofs we have seen.
