Emma's P.O.V
My eyes flutter open, settling on a beige colored ceiling. I hear the footsteps of nurse shoes get closer to my bedside, causing me to look toward the sound.
"Hello, Emma. Do you know where you are?" The nurse asks once our eyes meet.
"Yes, I am in the hospital to see my friend. Why am I in this bed?" I look to see a strange machine to my left.
What had happened?
"You fainted. You're lucky your friend caught you or you'd have a very bad concussion especially in your condition." She notifies me. I scrunch my face up in confusion.
"My condition? What's- What's my condition?" I ask. Her expression changes to an unreadable look.
"I'll go call the doctor in to discuss that with you. I'll be back in a second." She tells me quickly and leaves the room. A second later, she comes back with an older man who I assume is the doctor with Justin trailing closely behind. Justin looks at me, worry filling his eyes. The doctor looks at me and smiles.
"This is your boyfriend?" The doctor, whose name tag read Krelloi, asks me. I nod in response. "Okay, it's good to have the both of you here."
"What do you mean?" Justin inquires. "Is something wrong with her?"
"No. No, not at all. It's the opposite as a matter of fact." Doctor Krelloi smiles.
"Mind not speaking in riddles and get straight to the point." Justin speaks, sounding out of patience. I couldn't blame him. Doctor Krelloi was getting me impatient on knowing what my condition is.
"It's better I show you guys." He says, pulling the strange machine close to me. The nurse comes to my aid and pulls my shirt up, revealing my stomach.
"You are still not telling me why she fainted. What is that thing for?" Justin questions.
"Sir, I'm more excited to show you two. This will explain everything." Doctor Krelloi grins. How much can this man smile? He seems to be the most excited in the room. The nurse rubs a gel over my lower abdomen, sending chills throughout my body, as the doctor takes a tool and uses it to spread the gel out over my belly.
"This is a transducer. It records the frequencies and waves that goes on in your body and tells us what's going on. That's a short way to put it so you can understand." The nurse speaks to me.
"Why are you using it on her?" Justin asks as I am about to open my mouth. He was asking all the questions on my mind.
"To show you this." The doctor speaks up. He pulls the machine closer and shows us the screen with a white blob. A faint thud noise can be heard.
"What is that?" I beat Justin to the question.
"That is your baby. Congratulations. You are pregnant!" Doctor Krelloi exclaims. My stomach drops instantly at his words. I look over to Justin. He stands there in shock before I spot his eyes roll back and he passes out.
"Oh, dear. Three unconscious people in the past two hours. That's a new record for me." The nurse says, rushing over to Justin. She checks his heart rate. My worry for him eases at the nurse's next words. "He's fine. Probably just passed out by the shock."
She picks him up from the floor by herself which leaves me amazed. Her body definitely isn't the builder's type. In fact, it was very petite and small. To lift Justin's body which is very much to the muscular side would leave anyone else dazed. She rests him on the chair and sits him up. She goes to the sink in the corner of the room, filling a small container with water. She makes her way over back to Justin along with a damp cloth and places it on his forehead. She gently slaps his face and sprinkle some water on him before he shakes his head, opening his eyes.
