As I started walking towards the door one of the guard stepped up with a handcuff.

"Are you serious right now? We told you we won't do anything." Evan said, eyeing the handcuff.

The guard says nothing, stepping forward he grabs my left hand and handcuffs it. He then proceeds by taking Evan's wrist in his hold and handcuffing it to my left hand.

I just stand there noticing all this. I was too tired to even protest. Events of the previous night finally taking its toll on me.

We started walking towards the door. As I stepped outside the cell I took in my surrounding. We were in a hallway which had a number of cells on both the sides. As we moved forward I noticed that each cell contained two prisoners. Well now that was a thinker!

We kept walking, heading towards a single door, which was on the far end of the hallway.

I was acutely aware of the hand which was currently touching mine. I looked towards Evan from the corner of my eyes to find him staring straight ahead, walking as if he is the king of the world. Well someone has got an attitude! I thought to myself.

But still I couldn't shake the feeling of the back of his hand touching mine. Goosebumps adored my skin as I tried blocking his touch by focusing on walking while staring ahead. But my mind wasn't having it. It again and again drifted to the handsome stranger walking beside me. Why am I behaving like this? I thought to myself. It had been a long time since I had this kind of feeling for someone other than him!

No I won't think about him. I mentally chastised myself.

Through the hallway door we entered into a huge hall. When I say huge it means Gigantic! It was freaking enormous. As I look around I noticed many individuals in pairs bounded by handcuffs just like me and Evan. What the actual hell was going on here?

I stood there trying to process this new turn of events. I felt a tug at my wrist and looked up to see Evan motioning me to move forward. I nodded.

After we reached near a raised platform, which I assumed was a stage, the guards left us to join the other guards which were surrounding the whole area.

Looking around I had an intuition that this moment will change my life forever.

We have been waiting for 15 minutes now. When a door opened to our far right, a figure walked in. As he walked forward I got a closer look at his appearance. He was dressed in grey T-shirt and washed jeans. Pretty different from others, as all were in business suits here. I thought to myself! He was blond with eyes the color of ocean. He looked in his mid-twenties. He has this aura around him that demanded attention from everyone. He seemed powerful.

He got up onstage and addressed everyone.

"Hello Everyone, I hope you had a comfortable stay last night", he says with a genuine smile, which I know was far from sincere. He was probably mocking us.

What the hell is he talking about! Nothing about staying here was comfortable. I thought to myself.

"I know you all must be wondering why you have been brought here. He continues. You see we are SOULMATE SEEKERS. And you guys standing in pairs are each other's soulmate."

Gasps from everyone echo's in the hall. I was stunned. I can't have a soulmate. I was quite sure that I had one already. Him!

The blond guy continues.

"You must know that we are NEVER wrong. It is our job to bring soulmates together so that they get a chance to spend their life with each other. Although you all will be required to give a test, which will determine whether you deserve this kind of happiness or not"

"This can't be happening", I spoke quietly to myself.

"Let me assure you, I don't want this either", I looked up to see Evan staring at me hard, as if this was my fault?

"Every year we take few individuals from our very-very long list and give them this golden opportunity. And this year you are the chosen ones". The blond guy says happily.

"But this whole trivia isn't easy at all", He says, his voice grave.

"You will be facing some serious tasks for a whole month"

"What if we don't want to take part in this? What if I don't want a soulmate? And also what the hell is your name?" A voice speaks from somewhere within the crowd.

The guy laughs menacingly.

"Firstly, don't ever interrupt me when I am speaking. But as it's your first mistake I am going to oversee it. Secondly, you don't have an option. You all have to take part in this. And lastly my name is Jacob Adams. I am the head of this organization".

"Now even if you don't want it, you must give the test with your full potential otherwise the loss of life of your partner will be on your hands", He says giving a cheeky smile.

"Your guides will brief you about your first task", He says and gets off the stage.

I was speechless. This was too much information for me to process and handle. I didn't want a soulmate, it would be deceiving him! And I can't do that.

I looked towards Evan to find him already staring at me. Our eyes locked. All other thoughts vanished from my head. I gazed at his eyes which were looking at me so intensely. It felt that our souls connected at that moment. And I didn't mind it right now, looking at his eyes which only held adoration while looking at me.

Our moment was broken, when I heard a throat clear. I looked to my left to see X standing there, looking bored as hell.

"Why is she bored? They are the ones that brought us here and want us to do this." I thought.

"Your first task is, She began, that you will be given 5 days to get to know each other, in a cabin isolated from rest of the world. You will be provided with all the necessities. So spend this time wisely in knowing each other as it might help you in performing other tasks."

"Stay here I will be right back", She says and then walks away.

After ten minutes she comes back with six other guards.

"Let's get you guys to your cabin. Follow Me." She says and claps her hand excitedly.

I start walking after her towards the exit.

Let the destiny take me wherever it wants. I mentally say to myself.
