Daniel sat beside Sean, trying to cheer him up with his corny jokes, feeling almost relieved when Sean smiled at some of them. Daniel looked up at the doors opening, a doctor stepping out, looking down at his clipboard.
"Is there anyone here for Mark Fischbach?" He looked up and Sean shot out of his seat, already gripping the doctors shoulders, staring into his grey eyes with his wide, red tearful eyes.
"Is he okay?!" Sean asked, Daniel pulled him off the doctors, patting his shoulders comfortingly. The doctor sighed slowly, clicking his tongue against his top palate of his mouth, opening his mouth to speak but Sean was quick to interrupt.
"He's dead! Oh fuck!" Sean began crying, his medication wearing off. "No, sir, he's fine and awake" the doctor reassuringly shook his head and Sean looked at him with risen eyebrows.
"Then what was that fucking sigh for?!" Sean spat, Daniel pulled him back slightly, telling him to calm down. "Tell us how Mark is?" Daniel cleared his throat, waiting for the man's response.
"Well, he has three broken ribs and a broken leg, his arm was fractured but we were able to help with that, but the bad part is" he paused dramatically, making Sean want to grab his grey hair and punch him in the throat, but he didn't, he needed to know how Mark was first.
"He seems to have a minor concussion and a slight memory loss, he doesn't seem to know anything about himself, but this isn't permanent, it is a temporary memory loss and is rather common in conditions as these" The doctor explained and Sean had the urge to vomit, his heart beating against his ribs and his eyes wide.
"He... he doesn't remember anything?" Sean whispered, covering his mouth with both his hands in shock, his heart split in half. "How long will this last, if you can be specific?" Daniel asked, placing both hands on Sean's shoulders, his thumb rubbing his skin to try and give him the little comfort he needed.
"It could last up to a few days to weeks and even to months, but in his condition, may it be a week give or take" he sighed, fixing his glasses so they were fixated correctly.
Sean began hyperventilating, pulling on his green locks, panicking. "Jack, calm down, he's gonna be okay!" Daniel reassured, making Sean look up at him, worry in his eyes.
"O-Okay" Sean nodded, wiping the tears from his eyes with his sleeves, sniffling sadly. "Jack! What is wrong?" Enitza suddenly wobbled her way over to him.
Sean looked at her, covering his face with his hands, sinking to his knees. He felt arms around him and he tensed, realising that Enitza was hugging him, patting his back. "Dere dere" she said in comfort.
"Enitza! Get away from him!" Her mother snapped, glaring at Sean as he hugged her back. "But Mama! Jack is sad! I come and make him happier!" She looked back at her, still hugging him.
"No! Get away from that freak!" She snapped, attracting the attention of the people around. Daniel gulped and pulled Enitza away, not wanting to get Sean in more trouble.
"He's not freak! He's nice man! He like my cap!" She pointed to her hat, pouting and crossing her arms high above her chest, her mother quickly grabbing her arm, pulling her away, her eyes meeting Daniel's.
"Daniel?" She squinted at him, standing slowly. "Ashley?" He stared back, his eyes widen in shock. "Shit..." she breathed, Enitza glaring at her language.
"Been a while huh?" Daniel crossed his arms gruffly, glaring at her slightly, eyeing Enitza. "I'm sorry Daniel, I swear I never meant to hurt you!" She declared, stepping closer to him.
Sean looked up at her, noticing her Irish accent, staring with his blank expression. "Yeah? Imagine how I felt!? You just packing up and leaving me without a word! I bet your intentions were fucking fabulous!" Daniel spat, her eyes widen.
"No! Danny, baby... I knew how much the pressure and stress was hurting you, I... I was scared, I admit it, I was a coward, please, just forgive me!" She pleaded, her tears rose to her eyes, staring at him pleadingly.
"Stop fighting! I no like fight!" Enitza said, her eyes glossy. "Sorry hun.... Daniel, please" Ashley begged, picking up Enitza and placing her on her hip, tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Come on Jack, let's go see Mark" Daniel made Sean stand, asking for Mark's room from the doctor, dragging Sean to the room, Ashley crying for him to please come back.
"Who? What the fuck happened back there?!" Sean demanded, staring at Daniel with a frown. "That's a discussion for another day" Daniel grunted, looking away from Sean.
They reached the room and Sean's heart stopped and he stopped walking, Daniel looking at him with a frown. "What?"
"I don't think I can do it, he doesn't remember" Sean began panicking again but Daniel shook his head. "Then go and remind him" Daniel pushed him through the doors, Sean stumbling and trampling to the ground clumsily.
He looked up, his eyes meeting Mark's who stared down at him with a frown, he had a black eyes, his lip was split and a bandage wrapped around his neck and his arm in a slang, he stared down at Sean with his soft brown eyes.
"Are you okay?" Mark asked, his voice hoarse and strained, leaning over to get a better look at Sean. "Y-Yes" Sean coughed, climbing to his feet slowly, walking over to the side of Mark's bed.
"Do I know you?" Mark said, he was questioning himself more than he was to Sean. Sean could feel the strings at his heart pull and throb in disappointment and sadness.
"Yes..."
"You look so familiar... I can't put my finger on it though...." he bit his lip, pondering on where he possibly could have seen him before. "Sean...." Sean said softly, watching as Mark's eyes widen in delight.
"Yes! I know that name!" Mark clicked his fingers and Sean couldn't help but smile at the fact Mark recognised his name. "Really?"
"Yeah! J... J.... Jack?" He tilted his head slightly, staring at Sean. "Yeah!" Sean smiled widely, clasping his hands together. Sean stopped smiling when he heard the television turn on, the sound of his name reached his ears, repeating the same message as last time.
Sean saw Mark watching it, his eyebrows knitted together as he looked from the screen to Sean, looking between the two constantly. "That's you?" Mark asked and Sean swallowed thickly.
"Mark..." he started but Mark's expression turned fearful. "N-Nurse" he began calling Sean waving his hands at him, shaking his head, his eyes wide. "No! Mark! Don't!" Sean pleaded.
"Nurse! Nurse please help me!" Mark began yelling, Sean gritting his teeth and backing away slightly. "Mark please! I won't hurt you! I love you Mark!" Sean stated and Mark carried on yelling and the nurses came into the room, Daniel looking in with confusion.
"Sean McLoughlin! That's him!" Mark pointed at Sean, his eyes wide and full of terror. They gasped and began walking to him, Sean could see the syringe in the one man's hands and he screamed at the top of his lungs, the nurses stopped and covered their ears, Sean shoving past them and running out the room, grabbing Daniel by the sleeve and dragging him with him.
He was screwed, he knew this much.
