What the hell did George say? It seemed important. Fuck!

The doctor wheeled me into my room with Max. I insisted he told the others that they could go home and get rest themselves. I got hooked up to heart monitor and a bunch of other shit. The doctor told me I needed to get a cast before my leg got worse. He also said that my leg was nearly snapped in half. That's terrible. This is going to delay my apology to George.

After sitting in my room with Max for an hour, the doctor came in and put my cast on. It only took ten minutes. While it was drying I was filling out my release forms hoping to go home shortly.

"Mack, what were you doing in the tree. Were you trying to hurt yourself?" He asks with a hint of misery.

"No. I was in the tree because George was chasing me and I needed to hide. I don't know what he is capable of Max." I respond quickly. This is sort of Max's fault because he told me to blow the horn in George's ear. But whatever. I was the one who lost her grip 6-fucking-feet off the ground. I couldn't have waited to fall when I was lower?

After an hour of me getting the cast on, it was a lime green cast that went up to my knee, we were leaving the hospital and heading home. The doctor gave me crutches and told me to come back in two weeks for a checkup.

"Do you want to go to the store to get anything, Mack?" Max asks still looking at the road. Even though I still get into trouble, Max understands.

"Cocoa Puffs and paint," I say knowing exactly what I'm doing.

"Umm... okay. Odd requests." As he merges into the right lane, trying to get into the parking lot.

He tells me to stay put while he goes to get a cart for me to sit in. He helps me into the cart and pushes me into the store. "Cocoa Puffs are understandable, but why paint?" He asks navigating through the aisles.

"I feel the need to make something," I say pointing at the cans of paint. I decide on a nice shade of blue called "7080W Sistine Blue." It's going to look so good when I'm done with it. I hope George likes it. After the apology dinner, we could just go up there whenever we wanted. A chill hangout place that's away from the pranks in the house.

We finally get back to the house and Ian and George are sleeping on the couch. But Chad is in the kitchen because Max texted him when we left the store. Chad came up to me and gave me the biggest hug I've received since I arrived in America. Max actually had to pull Chad off of because he was hugging me too tight and too long.

I make my way to my room as quietly as possible with the crutches. This is difficult for me because I have the Cocoa Puffs and paint in my hands. Either Ian is a light sleeper or I made a lot of noise because he woke up, immediately running to help. He took the crutches away from the as I leaned up against the wall. He picked me up like Shrek picks up Fiona, with my ass in his face, I still have the cereal and paint in my hands. Ian brings me to my room and puts me in my bed. He sits next to me.

"I kinda need those for transportation Ian," I say pointing at the hallway.

"I know, I know. It's faster that way. Less noisy too," he chuckles.

"Here," I say giving him the box of his favorite cereal.

"You were the one who got hurt, I should be giving you things. Not the other way around." Ian says.

"I needed to go to the store for a few things and I saw the cereal and thought of you. There is a prize inside too." I manage to say as he rips open the box. The item inside the box was a little ring. He handed it to me.

"For you, my dear," he says putting it on me. I blush, hoping he doesn't notice.

"I will never take it off," I kiss his cheek. "What time is it, I don't have my phone with me," I ask.

"It's 9:52pm. Do you want to sleep? I can leave if you want," he whispered, shifting to the end of my bed, expecting me to tell him to leave.

"No," Escapes my mouth. "I mean, can you stay here until I fall asleep?" I ask.

"Uhh... yeah." We lay down, almost spooning. I shiver and Ian gets closer wrapping his left arm around my waist. "Is this too... umm... weird? You looked cold so I though this would help." He questions.

"No, this is perfect," I reply. "Thank you, Ian."

"It's not a big deal, Mackenzie. I'm glad you're okay. You really worried me." His hot breath glides across the back of my neck, making me tingle all over. Putting me to sleep in minutes.

What seems like hours later, I hear something moving by my door. I open my eyes and whisper, "Is anyone there?" I still feel Ian's arm around me, so it can't be him. Maybe it's Max. "Max, is that you?" I could be imagining things, so I close my eyes and snuggle closer to Ian. Falling asleep with his warmth all around me.
