George told Mikaela to help me find a dress because I'm going to be in the video apparently, Ian tagged along with us, Chad and Max went off to find suits for Max, George, and Ian, and George and Chris went across the lot to the grocery store.
I go up to the cashier and ask where the dresses are at. He points to the back, winks, and says "Let me know if you need anything else babe."
"Will do." I say sarcastically.
First I go find Ian and Mikaela, then we head to the back of the store. When we get to the back, Ian finds the nearest chair to sit in. Mikaela is already looking for the dress. I look for a dress in the rack closest to Ian.
"What's the matter, Ian?" I ask him.
"Nothing. I'm just trying to not get angry." He says.
"Angry about what?"
"The cashier was totally flirting with you."
"I am well aware, Ian. I couldn't give any less fucks about him. I'm with you, remember?" I move away from the clothes rack and kneel next to Ian.
"No. Fucking. Way." I hear someone say. "You two are a thing? When did this happen?" Mikaela asks. Great!
"Mikaela, shhhhh. Max could hear you. He doesn't know and we don't plan on him knowing." I nearly yell.
"Shit. Sorry." She drops the topic and goes back to looking for a dress. It appears that she has a few picked out.
"Ian," I rest my hand on his knee. "I wouldn't care about him even if he ran around the lot naked screaming his feelings for me. I like you naked, that's all that matters." I kiss him on the nose before anyone else sees. Ian smiles.
I get up and go by Mikaela. I tell her that I will let her know everything later. She hugs me and hands me the dresses to try on, even though there is no designated room for that. I lean my crutches against the wall and try on the first dress.
Chad and Max found everything they needed, so they came over to where I was changing. Max cleared his throat when I was in my underwear.
"What the fuck! You couldn't have said something sooner?" I throw one of my crutches as Mikaela runs to help cover me up.
"I turned around and you were half naked. At least I did something. Chad and Ian were drooling over you." Max says trying to defend himself. Ian went red but Chad seemed proud.
The cashier heard the commotion so he comes to the back of the store. I'm still half naked. Mikaela hands me my shirt and pants. I scramble putting them on, luckily I'm dressed before he gets to the back of the store. This is enough embarrassment to last half a year.
"Is everything alright back here?" He asks.
"No, we were just getting ready to pay." Ian says getting in the guy's face.
"I'll ring you up then." The man steps back, scared. I don't know how he could be intimidated by Ian.
I went with the dress I was attempting to try on. Max and Chad got three suits. George and Chris were still in the grocery store.
"Your total is $26.78." He says. "That's a pretty good deal for four fancy items."
Max hands him the exact change. They all head to the two cars, but I take a minute because of the damn crutches. I make it out the door, not even ten "steps" away from the store, the cashier comes out, yelling wait.
"Here is my number. Call me? Oh, my name is Jeff." He hands me a playing card with a number on it. I take the card and slip it in my back pocket.
"I'm Mackenzie. Sure thing." I will not be calling him. Jeff goes back into the store and I finally get back to the group.
"What was that all about?" Ian asks.
"He gave me his number." I pull the playing card out and fan myself with it. "Maybe I'll give him a ring..." Ian looked defeated "If we were the last people on earth." I say. Even then I wouldn't.
George and Chris come out of the store with two carts of groceries. What kind of video is this going to be?
On the way home, Mikaela rides with Ian and I. Chris rides with Max, Chad, and George. Mikaela asks us a bunch of questions about us and a few about George. We answer the questions we are comfortable with. I then asked Mikaela a few questions, and she answered willingly. This is the start of a new friendship.
"You're my only girl friend." I tell Mikaela. "Back in Australia, I focused on school. My only friend was Max." That came out more sad than expected.
"Does that mean you've never had a girls night out?" Mikaela asks. She sees me nod. "What are you doing tonight? We are having a girls night!" She seems too excited for this.
Let me just say that Mikaela is the kind of person you wouldn't voluntarily go up to in public. She had dark brown hair with bangs that frame her face. She wears dark clothing. She's the "scary person" you don't even dare looking at.
"It really depends if the boys want to film the video today. Ian do you think they'll film today?" I ask.
"It depends if George has an idea. He does, so most likely. He might already even have the script outline done." He says.
We pull into the driveway and unload all the groceries. All the important stuff made it inside. Everything else went into the yard.
