"Ian. Good morning Ian." I watch him wake up. He is too cute.

"Good morning, Mackenzie. How are you feeling? Do you need medicine?" He asked, rubbing his eyes.

"I'm feeling sore but better. Medicine is not necessary. Can you help me with something today?" Fuck. How am I supposed to tell him I want to go back into the tree?

"Yeah, anything Mackenzie. What did you have in mind?" He inquires.

"I want to go back up the tree. Before you say something," I put my left pointer, the finger with the ring on it, on his lips, "it's for a good reason. I need to do this Ian," removing my finger from his soft lips, looking into his gorgeous eyes.

"You are crazy. I care about you too much to let you do something that stupid again, Mackenzie. I'm sorry." He is telling the truth.

"I understand. But when it is finished, I don't know if I should let you see it," I stick my tongue out at him. He kisses the tip of my nose. "What was that for?" I blush.

"Just cuz you look really fucking cute in this light. I couldn't pass the chance." He says, blushing more than I am. "Want me to make you pancakes?"

"If you really, really want to," I say.

"Do you need help to the kitchen?" He offers picking me up.

"No. Can you get my crutches though," I ask. "Did you hear something last night?"

"Here are your crutches. I didn't hear anything, why?"

"I thought I heard someone in here. It's not big deal," I say.

When we get in the kitchen, Chad is in the fridge. He seems to always be in our fridge at our house. Doesn't he have someplace to live? I go and sit down at the table while Ian begins making the pancakes. Chad pulls him aside to talk about something. I pay no attention and go looking for my phone. For some reason it wasn't where I left it. It was on the lounge. I had multiple messages from mum and dad and a number I recognize, but can't remember.

Messages between Mackenzie and unknown
U:: I heard you broke your leg. Are you okay?
U:: What's the matter Mack? Please answer me babe.
U:: If you're still mad, I'm sorry.
U:: Mack, please. I know where you are. Don't make me come and find you.

That's strange. They know who I am, but I don't know them. Ian comes back into the kitchen. "What are you doing over there?" He questions.

"I was looking for my phone. It was on this lounge when I know I left it on the bathroom counter. What did Chad want?"

"He told me that he heard something last night too, he slept on the couch, around 3am. He just asked if I heard it too. I told him you heard it outside of your room." That's odd. There had to have been something or someone there.

"What should we do?" I ask not knowing what to do.

"You can sit down and rest, I will make you pancakes, then we can watch a movie. What movie do you want to watch?" I think Ian forgot I wanted to go back in the tree.

"I don't want to watch a movie," I say like a child. "I want to go up the tree."

"Get Chad to help you. I know he will. I just don't want you to get hurt again, Mackenzie. I care about you." He avoids eye contact.

Messages between Mackenzie and Chad
M:: I need your help with something stupid. Can you get me up into the tree again?
C:: Hell yeah, Mackenzie. Living wild, atta girl. When do you want me to help you?
M:: After Ian and I watch Alice in Wonderland.
C:: Cool. Just tell me when it's over. I'll be in Max's room playing some computer games.
M:: You're the best, Chad!
C:: I know.

"Let's watch Alice in Wonderland. It was my favorite movie as a child." I tell Ian hoping he would hear me.

"I thought you didn't want to watch anything?" He asks.

"Do you want me to change my mind and do something stupid?" Ian shakes his head. "Cuz I can easily change my mind." I add.

"No, no. I'll watch a movie with you. Where do you want to watch it? Here or in one of our rooms?" He asks.

"Here is fine. Thank you for everything, Ian. It means a lot." I look him in the eyes.

"It's no big deal, Mackenzie. I just want the best for you. I always have." We have only known each other for a month. It's been a great month, besides me breaking my leg. I feel like I've known Ian for years. It isn't awkward in between us like it is with George and me. Speaking of George, where is he. I haven't seen him since the hospital. I'll run into him eventually, it's movie time.

Alice in Wonderland is over and Ian is asleep with his head on my shoulder. Damn is he hot. I pull out my phone and message Chad.
M:: Hey, movie is over. You are safe to come in the lounge room.

Seconds later, Chad comes running out of Max's room yelling about cunts again. He notices Ian sleeping and gets louder.

"Don't make me shove my crutch up your ass," I tell him.

"Shit, Mackenzie. Into kinks are we? Does Maxy boy know?" He says, expecting me to do nothing. I kiss Ian's forehead hoping to make Chad upset and then get up to chase after him. Slowly, of course.

We make it outside and I start to head towards the tree. I point to the top, "I want to go up there."

"Are you fucking serious? There isn't anything good up there," He clearly doesn't know my motive. "I guess I'll still help though." He adds.
