She marched off with Jace and Izzy right behind her. I waited for Alec to go before following after him. He looked sad and slightly jealous. We walked through the rooms killing any vamps if we needed to. Finally, we entered the penthouse. Clary twirled her Seraph blade and Alec readied an arrow in his bow. Raphael was facing us. He was holding Simon to him and had a knife at his neck. Camille was nowhere to be found.

"Simon!" Clary tried to run towards him but Jace held her back

"Simon!" Clary tried to run towards him but Jace held her back.

"Clary! That's not gonna do any good." His arm was holding her tight.

"Listen to him, Clary Fairchild." Raphael looked crazy. His eyes were wide and his fangs were out. "Put it away. I've had more than enough of your friend for one day. I'd love to cut his throat. Don't give me a reason." All the shadowhunters still kept their weapons out. They had a serious issue when listening to people telling them to put away their weapons. "Put it away!" Alec put down his bow, Clary and Jace let their blades go and Isabelles' whip de-whipped.

"Simon. Simon, are you all right?" I almost laughed at Clary. He had a knife held to his throat by Raphael and his head was bleeding. Did that seem alright to her?

"I wouldn't say all right..." He muttered out.

"Stop talking!" He screamed. "Now... if you would all just follow me." He started to walk backwards. Alec and Isabelle took the first steps. I followed because I was closest to them and Jace and Clary followed after us. Alec grabbed my hand again and pulled me behind him. "Let's go! Come on, let's go! Up here now!" We followed him up a flight of stairs and around a corner. We were in a single file line and even if our weapons were away we were still very much on the defense. "That's right, get down there now! Get down there or I'll kill him right now!"

"Look, we're not gonna hurt you." Clary said as she passed him. "We just want Simon." She was trying to reason with him, it wouldn't work. Raphael was no longer a man that saw reason.

"I'm glad you do. We don't! We wanted you." He practically sneered at her.

"Well, here I am." Clary went to lunge at him but Jace stopped her.

"I said 'wanted.' Not my idea. Now, get out! Go!" We were at the roof access door. He wanted us to leave.

"Not without Simon." She continued to fight him.

"Shut up! Open that door right now or I'll kill him right here." He screamed at her. Alec pushed open the door and stepped outside. I went the opposite way and threw myself in front of Raphael. He still had Simon in his arms but I was blocking the sunlight from hitting him.

"Clary go!" I shouted up at her.

"Listen to them!" Jace also yelled.

"But Simon will die if..." Clary was arguing. I looked over at Raphael to see him trying to hide from the sunlight. I tried to stretch myself out more to help hide him.
