Chapter two

I reached home and let LuLu out of the Halter and let her fly around or whatever she does when I let her free. I walked into the kingdom and bought some items for dinner.

I went into my house and Mom and Dad were already there. "I got some bread and steak, vegetables, and fruits for us to eat tonight" I said handing my parents the bag of goods.

My dad and mom had a weird scared and worried expression in their face.

"What's wrong, is it Zella? Don't worry Mommy and Dad.., she going to be alright"I said trying to comfort them.

"It's not Zella we are worried about, she'll be fine, it's you that we are worrying about" my mother said calmly. I took a big gulp and closed the door slowly because this seemed pretty serious.

"What is it then?" I asked confused and extremely concerned.

"The king has nominated you to fight along with other powerful soldiers to fight on the planet earth" my mom said.

"What? But did I give him authority to place my name in the ballot?!" I said angrily.

"I know honey, but he is our king and we must , you must obey" Dad said.

" What if I'm not ready or trained enough, he will just send me out there to die?!" I asked concerned and even angrier.

"I'm just throwing my life away" I yelled.

"Sweetie, you are not throwing your life away, the king acknowledged how trained and powerful you are and decided that you would be a great help" mom said.

"I'm not ready, I can get killed. Mom, wars last several months maybe even years, you can't send me mom" I yelled.

My mom hung her head low and held my hand.

"King's order Kali, imagine what can happen. When all is done we will be the highest respected family by the king, we will be rich and you can fulfil your dreams because we would have enough money" Dad said.

"But-" I said sadly.

I would be all be myself, I didn't want to go. "Honey, you can do it, we will be cheering you on all the way from here" Mom said. I smiled. I did kind of want to go.

I mean, I will be able to fight real people instead of animals and dummies. I'll show my real skills and all that I am capable of.

"You will practice in professional training areas with other teens and young adults. Then in a while you'll be sent in a rocket to earth and fight. You'll learn everything when you get there. Here's a book that tells you all about it" Dad said handing me a huge book that had dust all over it.

I went outside and ran to my best friend, Dalila's house. "Hi Kali, what's going on?" She asked. "Nothing much,.um the king wants me to go to fight with the others on earth" I told her.

I stood outside on her welcome mat waiting for her to respond.  

" Wow, nothing much?! That's the biggest thing everyone is talking about in the village right now! do you want to go?" Delila asked me.

"Not really, but kind of... I don't know" I said. "I'll go with you" she said bravely.

"Really?!" I asked her.

Both of us had powers. She had water powers though and it was pretty cool.

Actually, the reason why we are friends was because we trained together and we were neighbors. We were both very strong and had awesome skills.

"Yeah really, give me a ride to the castle and I'll put my name in the ballot,Three times" she said. "That's amazing, you are the best" I said hugging her.

"So where's LuLu?" She asked. I saw LuLu flying in the sky right above the kingdom. I blew my whistle loudly, which made pretty much everyone cover their ears and curse me.

LuLu zoomed down and landed on a vacant area in the middle of town. I hopped on first and grabbed Lulu's Halter.

Delila hoped on after me and we zoomed up to the sky headed towards the castle. We landed in front on the castle and I told Lulu to wait in the front for us.

We went up to the huge wooden gates and to knights blocked our path. "Your purpose here?" One asked with a deep voice which made my spine shiver and the little hairs on my arms rise. "We are here to place our names in the ballot.

"Okay, head inside but do not pass the hallway, the ballot would be right to your right as you walk in, we will be watching you to make sure no funny business is occurring" they said.

We both nodded and walked in together. We looked to the right and placed our names three times. Even though my name was put in there once already by the king, I put it another two times.

We both turned to each other. "Ready?" Delila asked me . "Ready" I agreed nodding my head. We gave each other a high five and walked out.
