Not too far away, the Felix B and C were making their way to the carrier.
"Looks like a storm is brewing," remarked Liza.
"We'd better be careful, because a lightning strike could mess up our flight systems," said Jai over the headphones.
"We have about three miles left till we get to the carrier," relayed Cassie.
'Crash!' A loud thunder echoed in the sky as the storm reached out.
'Whoosh! Roar!' A strong wind arose suddenly, creating a heavy turbulence in the fighter jets.
"This is crazy!" shouted Jai as both jets rock and swerve violently.
"No... kidding!" replied Liza over the speakers.
Back on the carrier, things weren't so smooth. Rough waves as high as the carrier itself was crashing over its upper deck. The night sky above was over cast in dark thunderous clouds. Several bolts of lightning were randomly striking the ravenous ocean water.
"My goodness! I haven't seen anything this bad since '03!" exclaimed Young.
"I don't like the looks of this," I remarked to Jadian.
"I'm worried about the others. These are dangerous conditions to be flying in, let alone landing," he replied with concern.
"My thoughts exactly," I added.
Back in the air...
"Look! Look, look, look! There's the carrier," exclaimed Cassie.
"I'm seeing it on the radar as well," stated Nikki.
"Felix-C, let's go in for a normal landing. It's too risky for landing with the scram-jets right now," ordered Liza.
"Gotcha! You gals should go first. Cassie and I will follow," replied Jai.
"Right!" Liza sped up the Felix-B and closed in for the carrier runway.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck the Felix-C!
"Aaaaaahh!" screamed Jai and Cassie as they were zapped mercilessly. Visible electricity jumped out from the jet for a few seconds, before it started spinning out of control and taking a nosedive!
"JAI! CASSIE! What's going on! Hey!" Liza shouted desperately trying to contact them. No answer. "ANSWER ME!" She turns the jet around just in time to witness the Felix-C dive nose first into the raging ocean.
"NNNOOOOOOOOO!!!" shouted Liza and Nikki in unison.

Meanwhile at the Black Acts Antarctic base..."Carefully... carefully," says a man in a hazmat suit holding a metal pipette over a small conical-shaped lead container with a small opening at the top. In the lead container is a liquid Plutonium Chromium Hydroxide concoction, while the pipette contains 25cm cube of liquid uranium mixed with mercury. He allows all of it into the lead container and runs to a corner to cower in fear. The lead container rattles violently as thick green smoke pours out of the small opening. Loud popping noises are heard.
In another building above ground, four people are monitoring the scene. Three of them sit at a computer, each with a different task, while the guy standing is supervising them. "How's it looks, boys?" He says in a gruff voice.
The one on the left raises his hand, "Sir! Come check this out!"
The supervisor walks over, "what is it?"
"Look at this! The Alpha, Beta and Gamma radiation levels are dropping rapidly!" he points at a bunch steady dropping and rising numbers onscreen. "Formula #958 is stabilizing!"
