trouble in paradise

I opened my eyes and I was back In the lab the strange man had me in before, it seemed everytime I had a blackout this guy got a hold of me. "Kai my dear how have you been since I last saw you? Mm you look good" he eyed me up and down and I got shivers up and down my back, this guys was creepy. I needed to get out of here. "have you figured out your powers yet? Miss Bellany?"

My throat was dry like always when I visit him, I croak out "what? I have no powers"

He lets out a laugh "no my dear you are very special, the others in your team gave up on you when you couldn't acsses your powers but f you work with me I will train you in your powers and help you become special. I can help you with your powers you can work with my team and I" as he spoke he paced across the room his hands behind his back

I try to sit up from the lab table he has me on but an invisible force pushes me back down. "explain my powers to me and I will decide, if you are only doing good then why do you need a team of genetically enhanced people?" I needed to keep him talking to figure out a way to get out of here, where ever here was.

"Miss Bellany let me start from the beginning. My name is Parker Black you can call me Dr. Black though. When I found out about S.E.W.L and how they used genetically enhanced humans to make the world better I thought, why do only these people get to have these powers? Where did they come from? I decided to experiment on some of these people. I found out how to give others different powers and made my own team. I thought it was not fair for some of the human race to have these gifts and leave others out, my goal is to find out how many different abilities I can give to people and widespread these powers, everybody should be able to have these gifts it's only fair" when he stops talking he slaps his hand on the lab table I'm laying on. Dr. Black was a psychopath, if he thinks the whole world should have this power. The evil in this world was terrible if they had abilities to do even worse it would be chaos.

"sir, I can't let you do that, the chaos it would cause would be tremendous, the people who have these abilities have sworn to protect this world, others have not and would rather kill and sabatoge the way of life"

A knife appeared in his hand and he slammed it down next to my face, it embedded into the wood table, I flinched but didn't move from my spot. My limbs started going to jello and I lost feeling in my body. Dr. Black blew into my face and everything went dark.

I opened my eyes andbecame aware of myself in a different room for the second time today. I reallyneeded to get this figured out. I groaned and got up from the bed and relized Iwas in my bunk. Somebody must have took me here after I blacked out. I pacedaround the room, everybody was probably writing mission reports so I couldn'ttalk to the agents. Only one person could help me with my problem. I unlocked the door to the prison and walked to the cell that Robin was in. he was still asleep so I sat on the floor on the other side of the bars to wait for him to wake up. He looked so peaceful when he slept it was hard to think of him as a criminal, I thought over the new info Ethan had told me, that Robin worked for Dr. Black and he was in here for stealing important files.

The worry lines around his eyes disappeared as he slept making him look super peaceful and angelic. I sneezed and Robin woke up to my sneeze. "hey princess" his voice was husky and sleepy still as he walked up to the bars separating us. He sat cross legged in front of me. "Hey Robin, I need to talk to you"

"that's what I'm here for, Robin therapy sessions I'm here, well always, I'm kind of stuck here" he turned his big blue eyes on me "what's up"

I mentally debated on what I should tell him because he did work for Dr. Black " I blacked out and woke up in a lab area, some guy named Parker Black said he wanted to train my powers even though I don't have any and he was going to experiment on other genetically enhanced people. I don't know what is happening this is the second time its happened" I tried my best puppy dog eyes on him hoping he would explain things to me.

He dropped my gaze and looked at the floor "kai there are some things I havnt told you for your protection, im not really in here for false acusation to kill Ethan, I used to work for Dr. Black I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want you to think of me badly, but you need to know, I thought Black had my best intentions at heart, im genetically modified, I thought he really cared for me and the others, but when he put me on the mission to steal files from here he never even tried to get me out he turned off al communicatons with me and left me here, I've changed my ways but I can never redo the past of what I've done" shame is written all across his face and I can't help but feel bad.

"your enhanced? I didn't know that. What can you do?" I already knew most of what he told me but he didn't know that, but I wanted to know what ability he had.

"I can make others feel pain. I'm not proud of it and how I used it but its my ability and I have accepted it since then." He stands up and turns back to his cot that we used to share I think on all the times he could have hurt me but didn't. I knew I should be scared of him but I wasn't

"Robin that's okay you don't have to be ashamed of it, I tried to get Ethan to release you but he wouldn't but now I think if we can get you a trial you can regain your freedom, but I think they might need you to work with us because of your abilities they don't want that out in the world" I sound hopeful but inside im doubting it I don't know if we can even get a trial for him but I hope we can because he doesn't deserve to be in here.

Robin shakes his head "princess I would love to get a trial with Ethan but he will never do that, Icommited treason he will never let me out before I am dead. Im sorry princess Iwish I could talk more but I think you need to get back to your friends. Comevisit me again Kai" the way he says my name sounded so alien to me, he slurredthe A into the I and sounded like a song on his lips. I reached for his handand gave it a reassuring squeeze before standing up and leaving the prison.
