"Day 2 of Maddensville high school. So far, no sightings of the evil trio, or a blonde bimbo. Plan cafeteria is a go." I whisper before Justine and I speed walk down the long corridor to the cafeteria. "Success!" I whisper yell as we enter the cafeteria. "Not success. This place reeks more than the gym."

Justine sighs. "Yep, but I want you to meet my friends." We walk over to a table in the cafeteria and I sit down next to a brunette and smile before she shy's away. "Girls. This is Arabella." Justine says and sits down next to a redhead. "She's from England and she's new here. She's also staying with me because she's my best friend and if any of you have a problem with her come to me." I raise my eyebrows at her comment.

"Now, Arabella." She points to the brunette next to me, "That's Julia, she's shy so don't expect much," she points to the redhead beside Justine, "this is Samantha. She's really into sports." Then she points to a girl with hair that transfers from brown to blonde, I think it's called ombré? "And that's Jackie."

"Well what does Jackie like?" I ask.

"I like boys." She states and we laugh.

"We'll be back," Justine takes me over to the main section of the cafeteria. You know, the one with food? We stand in a line of people whilst Justine fills me in. "There's not too much to choose from, mostly everything has a sign saying what it is but if it doesn't just ask the lunch ladies - they're really nice. Okay?"

I nod and we walk up to where the food is. Justine instructs me on what to do - I grab a strange red tray that has a plate on it and force it down a line like Justine and the rest of the kids are doing.

"So do I just take whatever?" I ask Justine and she nods.

"Yeah pretty much."

I grab an apple and put it on my plate, then I grab a water bottle and put it on my tray, then we get to more sandwiches. I grab a chicken salad sandwich. Then Justine says I can grab a desert type food so I grab a small oatmeal cookie. She walks with me back to the table we were at and we sit down.

"I'll have to admit, eating in large room full of kids is weird." I admit to the girls once we all finish. They laugh at me even though I'm being serious. "Are there bins in here?" I ask and stand up.

"There's one behind you a few tables away." Julia says quietly, tucking a strand of her brown hair behind her ear not even looking up from her book.

"Thanks Julia." I say and turn around causing me to bump into someone, the remains of what I had on my tray going up into the air.

It feels like slow motion. Like everything slows down and I can feel his chest against me. The last of my water splashing onto his black leather jacket as it bumps off my shoulder and onto the ground. The last of the bits of chicken and cookie stick to him. As I fall he grabs my waist, stopping the impact of the cold, hard, ground. Then apple falls and hits me on the head, before falling to the ground.

Suddenly time speeds up again, I look up into his hazel eyes. His staring back into mine. "Annabelle, right?" He asks as he stands me back up.

"No, close though - it's Arabella." I reply and look at his now chicken and cookie coated shoulder. "Oh my gosh," I turn around and grab a napkin. "I am so sorry. Let me help with that," I clean off his shoulder and I can feel his eyes boring into my soul.

"You're from Europe. Aren't you?" He asks.

"Uh England, yeah." I reply.

"I like your accent. And you have beautiful eyes." He says quiet enough only I can hear and walks away with his two partners in crime.
