"You've been wearing this all night.."
"Oh," I say, "I totally forgot." He laughs at me once again. "You seriously need to stop laughing at me, Jackson."
"Sorry," He says, looking down at me.
He leans forward and I too, find myself leaning closer towards him.
And then it happens all over again. All the feelings, the emotions and memories flooding back in. I remember it all.
From the hallway to auditions, to ripping out Tiffany Blake's ear lobe in half... Tiffany... Tiff..
I push him away. He stumbles for a bit and opens his eyes, his lips still in a smolder. He looks at me and furrows his eyebrows.
"What was that?" He asks.
"You and Tiffany are a thing. We shouldn't have kissed." I say and back away from him.
"No, no Tiffany and I aren't a thing." He says.
I shake my head, "It doesn't matter, I'm engaged to Robert. Tonight was a mistake." I say, instantly wanting to change my words.
"Still think I'm a mistake huh?"
"No. Stop twisting my words around! I said tonight was a mistake, coming back to New York, going to that dance, coming wherever I am with you! I should have stayed in Unovria." I let out. "Just...just take me home." I demand, walking to the passenger car door.
It takes a moment before Jackson gets into the drivers seat. He doesn't say anything, he just starts up the car and drives out on to the road. I take a deep breath and stare out the windscreen.

"Wait!" Jackson says, pulling over on the side of the road. "You're engaged?? To Robert?? Who even is he?"
"Um.. Robert is the Prince of Denmark.." I say.
"Oh, okay so you're marrying some Denmarkian?" He enquires.
"Danish." I correct.
"What?" He says, looking at me.
"He's Danish. Not Denmarkian. That's not a thing." I explain.
"You're not a thing."
"Oh my gosh, you're so immature!"
"Yeah well at least I'm not a prince
The ride was quiet, the only sounds being Jackson's car, and other cars around us.
He stops the car outside Justine's house, but leaves the engine running. I look over at him, but he's already looking at me so I turn and open the door. I step out on to the curb and onto the nature strip, shutting the door behind me.
"Arabella!" Jackson calls out and I hear a car door open and close. I turn around and see Jackson standing on the nature strip I was just on. He shrugs and holds up my mask.
I laugh and mumble "Right, that." I walk briskly back to him and hold out my hand.
"I got it." He says and gently puts the mask over my eyes. He tucks a piece of hair behind my ear and looks straight into my eyes, his hand still resting on the side of my face. "I'm sorry." He whispers before heading straight back to the drivers side of the car and starting up the car.
"Wait!" I call out. "Wait! Jackson!!" He doesn't wait. He drives off in to the darkness.
"Arabella? Is that you?" I hear Justine call out.
I turn around and see Justine in her pyjama's. "Yeah, It's me I'm home." I say, slowly walking through the door.
