Buern???!!!!

I was standing in front of Lynelle's Shop when I heard Karylle's shy voice behind me. Humarap ako and I saw her standing right beside her equally-beautiful mom, Ms. Zsazsa.

Kitang-kita ko ang pagkabigla nila when I turned around. Both of them looked at me from head to foot with amazement.

Karylle:

Oh My God! It IS you!!! Hahahaha! Nagdadalawang-isip ako na i-approach ka coz.... Coz..... Oh my Meme Buern.. you look so dashinggggg!!! Hahahaha!

Pinigil kong himatayin sa mga sinabi ni Karylle. Sa sobrang kilig ko, hindi ako agad nakapagsalita. I was just standing there with the biggest and silliest smile. Feeling ko sa sandaling yon, nagkapakpak ako at lumilipad-lipad na ako sa kalawakan.

Karylle just kept on talking and was smiling at the same time. From time to time, she would point to my shirt or pants or my hair habang ako naman ay walang kalaban-laban na tumayo at namula lang sa harap ng mag-ina.

Zsazsa:

K, ano ka ba? Kawawa naman si Buern, I think you are embarassing him. Hahahaha!

Natauhan lang ako when Ms. Zsazsa spoke.

Buern:

Good morning po Ms. Z!

I awkwardly kissed Ms. Zsazsa on her right cheek. Sa totoo lang, my son-in-law instinct wanted to reach for her hand at magmano. Pero I just settled for a kiss. I figured, I have a lifetime to do that naman. Naks!

Ms. Zsazsa:

Good morning Buern! Kanina ka pa ba? Sorry medyo na-late kami.

Buern:

Naku, maliit na bagay lang po yun. Actually, kararating ko lang din po...

I tried to put on a straight face behind the lie that I've just said. ACTUALLY magdadalawang oras na akong nasa harapan ng shop ng friend ko.

Mula sa party ni Anton last night, I went straight home to my condo and tried to sleep. Pero sa kasamaang palad, hindi ako nakatulog dahil sa sobrang excitement sa date namin nila Ms. Zsazsa. Kaya ayun, I ended up ransacking my whole closet for the right outfit today.

I wanted to appear really good this day. Manly good. At base from Karylle's reaction, napagtagumpayan ko naman eto.

Ms. Zsazsa:

Oh that's good to know. Eto kasing si Karylle na-late nagising. Napuyat kasi sa kakacomputer.

Karylle:

Hahaha! Eh kasi naman Mama, alam mo namang mana ako sa yo, napakatechnologically-challenged ko. It practically took me 7 long hours to finish a short simple video. Hahahaha!

Ms. Zsazsa:

Kasi naman, I told you, dapat kinantahan mo na lang sya eh. Mas nakaka ---------

Karylle, swiftly but gently held Ms. Zsazsa's hand as if she was stopping her to further reveal something. Sa ginawa ni Karylle, Ms. Zsazsa abruptly stopped talking and smiled.

Karylle:

Oh Meme Buern, before I forget, meron pala akong pambawi sa tardiness ko. Hehehehe!

Karylle reached inside her big bag and handed me a tumbler.

Karylle:

Ayan... Hot taho for breakfast! Hehehe! Pasensya na Buern ha, we were rushing kasi kanina kaya I wasn't able to prepare a more decent breakfast for you. Kaya, I just bought this from my suki. I told him na bawasan yung arnibal coz I know sore pa yung throat mo. Bawal ang sweets...
