Smackle's POV:

I grab my books out of my locker before shutting it.

I accidentally drop my pencil. "Darn it."

I bend down and pick it up.

I see a pair of pink heeled boots appear in front of me. I stand up and see Missy Bradford standing in front of me.

"Hi?" I ask, slightly confused to why Missy was standing in front of me. She never talks to kids like me, the nerds. Or anyone who isn't popular.

"Yea, I need you to do my chemistry homework nerd." She says shoving her chemistry homework into my hands. "And all the answers better be correct freak or else."

"Or else what?" Usually I don't talk back to people but she is really making me mad.

"Or else me and my girls are going to become your worst nightmare." She says before she knocks my books and her homework out of my hands and they fall onto the floor.

She pushes me onto the ground and they laugh.

"Hey! Leave her alone!" A male voice yells.

I stand up and see a boy in a plaid blue button down shirt and jeans walking towards Missy and her minions.

"Who the hell are you?" Missy snaps at the boy standing next to me.

"The names Lucas Friar. And I want you to leave her alone and walk away." He says, a strict tone in his voice.

"And what if I don't?" She asks, her hand firm on her hip, her lips pursed.

"Well, I heard from a new friend of mine that they caught you and Billy Ross in the janitors clos-" Missy cuts him off.

"Okay we'll go, just shut your mouth!" She snaps at him before turning on her heel and storming off, her prissy pink minions following her.

"You alright?" Lucas asks.

"Yea I'm good. Thanks." I say before bending down and picking up my books. Lucas helps me.

He hands me the rest of my books and we both stand up. He smiles down at me. I smile back.

"I'm Smackle."

"Smackle?" He asks, a confused look on his face.

"Well, that's my last name. My real name is Isadora, but I prefer to be called Smackle. I don't like my name." I say pushing a strand of my black hair behind my ear.

He smiles again and rubs the back of his neck. "Isadora is a beautiful name, especially for a beautiful girl, like yourself." He says, making me blush.

Wait, am I actually blushing?

A boy made me blush?

What the heck?

That's never happened before.

"Isadora?" Lucas says, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yes, Lucas?"

"Would you like to hang out together sometime? Like, after school?" He asks, a nervous expression on his face.

"I'd like that." I say with a smile. He smiles back and nods.

"Great. I'll see you after school?" He asks as I nod.

"See ya then." I say before we walk our separate ways.
