Ship: RiarkleFarkle's POV:
I sit in the black and yellow vehicle, driving through the streets of Greenwich, New York waiting for someone who needs a ride to a destination I do not yet know.
I notice a woman with long wavy brown hair waving me down.
I pull over next to the curb and she climbs into the backseat, throwing her bag into the seat next to her.
"Hello ma'm, where too?" I ask, putting the car in drive.
I look at the woman through the rear view mirror.
She is beautiful, but her cheeks are stained from tears, her make up smudged.
"Please just drive. The faster I get away from this wretched place the better." She tells me, her voice cracking.
I nod and start driving, not knowing where exactly to go.
"Are you okay?" I ask, knowing that she obviously isn't.
She scoffs, "Do I look okay?" She snaps.
I mumble a sorry.
She sighs and shakes her head. "No, I'm sorry. It's just been a bad year."
"Year?"
"Long story." She states.
"Well, I'm a good listener, but you don't need to tell me if you don't want too."
She sighs. "Okay. I'll tell you. But I have a question for you."
"Alright, what is it?"
"I know this is a long shot, but could you take me to Philadelphia?" She asks.
Philadelphia?
That's a long ways away.
I nod. "Sure."
"Thank you um-"
"Farkle. Farkle's Minkus." I introduce myself.
"Farkle? What an odd name." She says with a giggle. "I like it."
I chuckle. "Thanks. What's your name?"
"Riley Matthews."
"Matthews? Like the famous photographer, Cory Matthews?" I ask in awe.
Cory Matthews is one of the best photographs in the state of New York, his work is phenomenal.
He's actually the reason that I got into photography.
I push on the breaks when we reach a red light.
I glance back at the beauty in the backseat.
She huffs and rolls her eyes. "Yeah, that's him."
I frown, "Did I say something wrong?"
She shakes her head. "No. It's not you. It's another part to why I'm leaving New York. Another chapter to the long story."
"Oh. Do you still want to talk about it?" I ask, not wanting to upset her.
She nods. "Can I come up there?" She asks. I nod.
