(A/N: Sorry if this chapter is a little slow and not much happens in it. I like being able to build up the relationships of characters and how they act around each other. Anyway, hope you enjoy.)
Asriel did a little hop as he approached his front door, causing Frisk to laugh as Asriel pulled them along. Asriel rummaged around in his bag, searching for his keys. Humming, he pulled the keys out and unlocked the door, letting Frisk enter first and following them shortly after. Asriel glanced around before calling out, "I'm home!"
Frisk heard the soft footsteps of someone approaching. Glancing to where they heard the noise, Frisk spotted the mayors wife, Toriel, peaking around the corner with a bright smile.
"Welcome home, Azzy!" She then turned to Frisk, "Oh, are you Frisk? The one Asriel has been telling us about for years? The one with the, and I quote, 'most bright and beautiful brown eyes I've ever seen'?" Frisk raised an eyebrow and they heard Asriel squeak. Looking over, Frisk saw a blush spreading across Asriel's face and he was trying to hide behind his hands.
Cute.
"MOM!" Asriel exclaimed, "Don't tell them that! It's embarrassing." Frisk just chuckled and stepped forward.
"Yep, that's me!" Frisk stated teasingly. Asriel groaned, causing Frisk to giggle. Frisk suddenly wasn't that tense anymore.A small chuckle brought Frisk back to attention, and they looked to see Toriel covering her mouth with a hand; as though she could block her laughter. She looked back over at Frisk.
"It's nice to finally meet you, Frisk. Let me call Asgore in here so he can meet you." Well, Frisk enjoyed those few ten seconds of not being nervous.
"Asgore! Dear, come meet Frisk! The one Asriel has been talking about at dinner all the time, for the past few years!" Toriel called. Asriel had moved to stand next to Frisk.
"I swear, they're only out to embarrass me to death," Asriel mumbled with a pout on his face. Frisk smiled at him. The sound of footsteps entering the room caused Frisk to look forward again, it was Asgore. He was looking over at Frisk as though he was inspecting them, before tilting his head to the side a bit with a smile.
"You're Frisk? You sure you're not just Chara with brown eye contacts and a different sweater?" Asgore chuckled as Frisk gave him a confused expression. "I'm just teasing. But, dear, don't they look similar?" Asgore asked Toriel. Toriel looked at Frisk before bringing both her hands up to her face with wide eyes.
"Oh my, you're right! They do look similar to Chara!" Toriel exclaimed. Frisk tilted their head to the side in confusion, then turned to Asriel.
"Who's Chara?" They asked. Asriel sighed and smiled sheepishly, bringing an arm up to rub the back of his neck; like he always did when he was nervous.
"They're another friend of mine. I haven't known them as long as you, but they've been a good friend. And they do look really similar to you, the major differences really are that your hair is a bit lighter, you have brown eyes while they don't, you're tanner, and they wear a sweater with the same colors as the ones I wear. But then again, they kinda...ahh, just took one of mine, randomly, saying how they found it 'comfy'," Asriel said with a laugh. Frisk raised an eyebrow, but before they could say anything, Asriel was turning back to his parents.
"Speaking of Chara, are they here?" He asked. Toriel shook her head.
"No, they left a little bit ago. Now, if you'll excuse us! Asgore and I have some paperwork to do. It was a pleasure to meet you, Frisk, and I hope you'll be staying for dinner!" Toriel said enthusiastically as she and Asgore left the room.Frisk turned to Asriel, eyebrows furrowed.
"Wait...does this Chara person live here?" Frisk asked. Asriel waved a hand in front of his face.
"Nah. I had met them at the park one day when they had fallen out of a tree, we became friends rather quickly. A few days later, they basically just showed up at the front door with a bag over their shoulder, saying they had fight with their parents and were kicked out of the house for a bit. Apparently this is a regular occurrence in their family. But they stayed here for a few days, left, then came back not too long later. It's become such a normal occurrence for them to just show up and stay over, that dad even bought an extra bed just for them. Now that I think about it, they basically do live here!" Asriel explained as he led Frisk to his room so they could both do homework.
