"Mark."

Mark didn't look at (Y/N).

"Mark."

He turned into a building but (Y/N) didn't care if anyone saw her dressed like how she was. Something was wrong with Mark.

"Mark. Hey." (Y/N) said, but he still didn't look her.

She realised they were walking into this fanciful office, where the men and ladies were all in either a tux or...whatever they called those things women wore. (Y/N) always imagined they were the female versions of tuxes.

They weren't staring at her, oddly, but she shrugged. She needed to get to Mark.

He was turning to a lift and when he got in, and he quickly shut the door.

Fuck.

(Y/N) was probably not authorised to use the staff lift, seeing Mark might be working there as a staff, so she looked around her for other options.

The stairs.

She quickly ran to her left, where there was the stairs leading up. The lift had stopped at the tenth floor, which meant that was where Mark would be heading.

Fuck. There was a long way to go.

By the end of her long run up, yes, a run, (Y/N) ran, she didn't feel tired. She was surprised her stamina was amazing, but then again her stamina might have been amazing before. She couldn't remember.

She looked around, but she only found herself in a long hallway, where all the doors were shut. Where was (Y/N) going to find Mark now?

"Fucking ass." She whispered, getting ready to walk past every door from one end to the other. If she could run up ten floors, she could basically do anything.

Maybe even the Olympics.

"Finally, for God's sake." (Y/N) sighed. The fifteenth door to the right was labeled as, Mr Fischbach, CEO of SCINC Enterprise.

CEO?

What CEO?

Didn't Mark want to become a Youtuber just like Sean?

Didn't he hate serious big jobs?
(Y/N) slowly opened the door. It felt so wrong, to even stand where she was standing, in somewhere she probably could never belong to, but she needed to do it.

"Mark." She opened the door, half expecting him to assault her for coming in or not be there, but there he was. Sitting behind his desk in a well furnished office sat Mark, in a long leather chair, looking through papers and signing them.

For a moment she admired the man, for his everything. The light from the little spaces of blinds shone on his hair, setting it ablaze. He was on fire.

He looked so refined, so, calming, it scared her.

What happened to wild Mark?

She walked over to him, as he seemed like he didn't care a flying fuck that she was there, in front of him.

"Mark." (Y/N) said sadly, softly, but it was loud enough for him to hear.

Mark's left eye twitched when she said his name. She walked even closer, feeling hesitant, but she did it because again, she wanted to. She needed to. She had to.

(Y/N) was standing to his left now, half a metre away. He didn't budge. There was only the sounds of flipping, scribbling, and she could see his scrawly writing on the pieces of paper.

"Why won't you talk to me Mark?" (Y/N) said sadly, her eyes brimming with tears and her face felt hot, for the first time. She shook in her place, her hands clenched into fists as she let out a deep, shaking sigh. Her toes were squished together, and she closed her eyes to let out a single line tear that glided off her cheeks and on to the floor. She was terrified.

(Y/N) stepped closer to Mark, throwing weak punches at his left shoulder, still sobbing. She wanted her friend. Where was her friend? Where were her friends? Where was her family? Where was Sean? Where was Mark?

"Fuck you Mark." (Y/N) said, although more as a way of saying I miss you rather than I hate you.

"All I want is for my best friend, out of the only two I can remember, to talk to me. I'm scared, no one is paying attention to me, everyone seems to hate me, Sean doesn't give a fuck about me, and I guess you too. I love you guys, I can remember that, but why are you guys doing this to me? What did I do? What happened to both of you? Why... What has changed? Who am I now? What am I to you? Please... see me. Look at me and tell me nothing is gone, everything is the same, we're still those weird teenagers who grew up together and chased Mr Phil's dog, Chica around, who got froyos together, who had dreams together. Please? I..." But (Y/N) was interrupted, because Mark had suddenly stood up, looked at her with her hot tears dripping and her eyes red and swollen, and she was silenced, because he looked so scary.

Warm lips broke that silence.

"I see you."
