"(N/N)... hey... don't cry..." I said, wiping off her cold icy tears that only I could feel, only those she knew could feel. We, have always been the only ones who could see her.
Mark, her family and I.
"You're crying too you fucker." (Y/N) said, half laughing, half sounding even more dead than she already was. She was so beautiful, so wonderful, it broke my heart to see her like this, every time.
My face was only an inch away from hers, our lips half an inch from each other, and her breath, which smelled like mint, and lemongrass, filled up my entire being. Her tears were dry, and so were mine, but her eyes were so alive, still so much more alive than anything I had ever seen. Like Mark.
She was always in love with Mark, wasn't she?
Stupid motherfucker.
"Why didn't you tell me Sean?" She said, her left hand on my neck, her right hand on my cheek. She gently pushed me down until I was squatting infront of her to meet her gaze, even though I could see her perfectly in the dim light we had.
"I didn't want to hurt you." I said, pulling away further now, until I could see her entire body, her face, her hair, her lashes, her brows, her shaking hands. They didn't let go of me.
"Why? Why were you afraid?" (Y/N) asked, even though she knew, so well. Her voice was like broken pieces of glass, so pure but so shattered. She was always like this when she knew. She was always so afraid but so calm every time. She was always so terrified of what she would say. She was always so afraid of me.
"Because let me tell you a story, one that I've told you forty one times before. A story, that I will tell you, again and again, until you finally let go."I said to her ear. "But then again, you've never really let go." I said, pushing her hands off me and I sitting down next to her, picking up every single one of the papers from her lap and into mine. I bent down and grabbed that single piece of paper she dropped and together I tied them into the same bundle I always have, placing them back into the box. She didn't flinch.
"This is a story, of a beautiful girl, called (Y/N)" I said, smiling a little as I put the box away to where it was and sat back down next to her. "Now, you must listen carefully, grandpa Sean is gonna tell you a story little kiddo" I joked, which made her giggle a little and nudge me through her porcelain skin.
And she listened.
***
"There was once a girl who was so alive. She never stopped smiling, and she grew up with her best friends, Mark and Sean. They were twenty two and Mark twenty three that year, that beautiful year, and many things happened."
(Y/N) was crying.
"Sean's mother and father were surgeons. They wanted Sean to become like them, so they made him go to medical school. Mark's dad owned a huge company, and wanted Mark to take over him. (Y/N) wanted her two friends, but they were busy fighting with their parents all the time. Still, (Y/N) did her best to cheer them up. They fell in love with her."
