Chapter 36

"What did you just say?"
Everyone turned to Will who stepped behind the team without anyone noticing.
"Will I..."
He didn't let Emily finish.
"What did you just say?" He almost screamed.
"Hey, calm down, Will." Morgen tried to control the situation. Without success.
"She said my wife is dead! Is that true?!"
Hotch stood up and started to talk:
"It looks like JJ had another flashback and blacked out. When the doctors came in they couldn't find a pulse."
"W..wh...w...what?" Will stumbled and tripped backwards towards a chair. Hotch helped him to sit down while tears ran down Wills face.
"What triggered the flashback?"
The team looked at Prentiss. She was still overwhelmed by the whole situation but nevertheless she stood up and walked over to Will.
"I talked to her and... well I put of my scarf and she saw a scar."
Will was confused: "And that triggered the flashback? A simple scar?"
"The problem is that I got this scar within the last four years which means ..."
"JJ couldn't remember it." Will finished her sentence.
Emily nodded.
"So you triggered the flashback?"
"She can't help it, Will. That's not her fault." Reid said.
Emily didn't know whether he just tried to calm Will down or he really was serious about this.
"Of course it is!" Will whispered.
Emily had trouble to controll her tears. She was responsible for this. She was the reason why her best friend was...
Without warning Will suddenly jumped up and slashed at Emily.
She flinched but Will was faster.
He gapped her and pushed her against the wall.
Emily cried out. Immediately the team was on it's feet and tried to part Will from Emily.
"Let go of me!" Will called out when they succeeded.
Emily gasped for air still too shocked to say something.
"What were you thinking?" Morgan asked full of rage.
Will answered totally calm but still everyone could understand the words he said:
"What would you do to the person who killed your wife?"
Then he looked at Hotch.
"You of all people should know the answer, Hotch."
