Why?

Chapter 15

After a short time JJ and Will parted from each other.

JJ asked: "Where's Henry?"

"He's still in the kindergarden."

JJ was glad that Henry hadn't heard about her Flashback yet. Although she knew, that he would when he got home.

"Does the team knows about what happened?" JJ wanted to know.

Will shook his head: "Not yet. I wasn't sure if you would want them to know about it. I hope that's ok."

JJ nodded. She didn't want the team to know about it.

At least not yet.

Will looked at JJ and realized, that she needed a few moments alone.

"I'll talk to the doctor now, to find out when I can take you home, ok?"

"Yes, thank you." JJ answered.

One last time Will kissed JJs forehead softly, before he left the room.

At the corridor Will looked around and found Dr. Parker after a few minutes.

"Dr. Parker, can I talk to you for a moment?" Will asked when he reached her.

"Sure. What's the matter?" She asked.

"I just wanted to know, when I can take my wife home."

The doctor smiled: "Now that she is awake, she can come home with you."

Will nodded: "That's good. But I have another question."

After a short silence, Will continued: "How can I help JJ?"

Dr. Parker was confused: "What do you mean?"

"I mean the flashbacks and the nightmares."

Dr. Parker sighed: "Sadly not much. The flashbacks and the nightmares are symptoms of the post traumatic stress syndrom your wife has."

"But there must be something I can do to make it stop!"

Dr. Parker frowned and said: "What is this really about? This isn't only about flashbacks and nightmares, is it?"

After a few seconds Will shock his head: "No..."

"Then what is this really about?"

"She changes." Will answered. "Day by day she changes more and more. Sometimes I don't even recognize her anymore. And sometimes I..."

"Sometimes you what?" Dr. Parker wanted to know.

Wills voice trembled when he returned:

"Sometimes I can't recognize the woman I once loved."
