We walked to the nearest ice cream parlor which was about a five minute walk. But it didn't seem that long because we were talking about random little things. For example; favorite color, food, sport, and thins like that.
I opened the door, and let Marshal walk in first.
"Hello, how may I help you?" The woman standing behind the register asked.
"Can I get a regular double school chocolate come?" Marshal asked.
"Wow your plain. But can I get a Oreo cookies and cream ice cream cone. Make that three scoops please."
"Yes ma'am. Your total will be $9.67." Marshal paid the lady the money. We went to sit at a booth by the door, that also had a window seat.
"Do you trust me?" Marshal asked out of the blue.
"Well I honestly don't know. You randomly text me saying you can help me, then you say for us to meet up. And I haven't gotten to know anything about you besides things like your stalking me." He laughed at that.
"I'm not stalking you. I just get the facts pretty easily." He smirked.
"How do?" I challenged. He put his chin in between his thumb and pointer finger and looked up humming. I guess that's his way of saying he's thinking.
"I know these things because I get told them. I hear it around people. Your friends have told me these things. Tyler, I just know him too well, and I've read the paper and Internet about him. I will admit I might stalk you a little bit, but I promise I'm not a creep. I'm just trying to find ways to help you, and your friends. And to get back at Tyler."
"You've already said you want to help me. But why do you want to get back at him?" The lady came by, and sat our ice cream down on the tables for us.
"Thank you." We both said at the same time.
"It doesn't matter why I want to get back at him. I just do."
"The only way I can trust you is if you tell me these things. You got to remember your still a stranger."
"I know this. You don't have to repeat it." He scowled. I took a bite of my ice cream, and so didn't Marshal.
"Why do you even want to help me anyways?" I asked after a fe a minutes of silence.
"Because I don't want nothing bad to happen to you." You could hear the tone in his voice. Almost as if we have been friends forever, he sounded like he would miss me if anything bad happened. He doesn't even know me for crying out loud.
"I'm old enough to take care of myself."
"No your not. Tyler has changed."
"What do you mean?" I asked looking into his eyes.
"It's nothing."

He opened the door to an abandon looking building. The wood on the outside was rotting, you could smell the mold, and of course it was in the middle of the woods.
I walked inside to be honestly surprised. It's really nice on the inside. The walls were done like it would be in a normal house, and the smell of fresh paint. There were wood trims along the wall that connects to the ceiling. New looking furniture say in the area we are standing in. A long leather black couch, a bean bag chair, one of those couches that wraps around, and two glass tables connected together in the middle of the room.
"Great first impression?" Marshal asked.
"Not really. The outside was horrible looking. Now great second impression I must say. Did you do this?" I gestured to the room.
"I actually did. Well with a little help." He smiled. "I know your probably wandering why it's in the middle of the woods, and in an old abandon cabin aren't you?"
"Actually yes."
"I did this because no one could find me out here. Also how many people would go into a stinky, old, abandon cabin?"
"Your right. But people in a horror movie would."
"Well they are just stupid anyways." We both laughed at that sentence. It is true. Like people in horror movies know there is something in that room, or basement, or attic, but they still go and do it anyways. Or they will run from the killer, fall, look back, wait till they are almost in reaching proximity, then get up and continue to run.
"Why are you laughing?" Marshal asked looking at me strangely. Huh, I guess I was laughing about that.
"About stupid horror movie people."
"Still?" He chuckled.
"Nope. I thought of other things that made me laugh." He just nodded.
My phone buzzed in my pocket, which instantly made Marshal and I look down at it. I pulled it out, and saw it was a text from another random number.
"Who is it?" Marshal asked all of a sudden, and demanding.
"I don't know, it's a random number." I showed him my phone. He clicked the number, and started to read the text.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Read for yourself." He shoved my phone back to me, and started to tug on his hair. Um okay?
Unknown: Casey my dearest love, how are you? I miss you. I haven't seen you since earlier today. Want to come hang out? Maybe even go on a date? We can go somewhere in private. No one has to know. Mason will be coming along. So come on Casey, don't hide. This will be fun.
My eyes started to water up. How can this be! Who is this! Why do they have Mason! I let the Tara slip down my cheeks, as I slowly sat on the floor, and curled up into a tight ball. Someone took Ryder, and now Mason. I can't handle this. This person is taking all the people I care bout most. What if they end up killing them if I don't do what they want me to do?
"I'm sorry I can't do this Marshal." I said still crying.
"Yes you can, and you will Casey. Everything will be okay. We will get your friends back. I promise."
"Don't promise something that you can't keep." All he did was sigh. That wasn't a good sign.
Thank you guys for the 10k reads !! You don't know how much that really means to me. I started this book out , and about deleted it.. But someone commented on it and told me to keep going, and I did, and I'm very great full that I did. I see this story going really far, and end up having a good ending. (I don't even know the ending yet)..
But omg first Ryder, and now Mason... And even this new Marshal dude? This is getting crazy ....
