Everything happens for a reason right? Like, there's a reason for the sun to rise and to set, making the moon shine bright in the sky. There's a reason for water to run in streams, and come to our homes, applying us with what we need. There's a reason why certain people enter your life, and a reason why certain people leave your life. You might question all these things and why there are reasons behind it, but no one will truly know. Nothing will ever be certain. You can guess all you want, or tell yourself a thousand times that's the reason why, but it will never be the actual reason.
Kinda like my mom. I don't know the reason she died. I don't know the reason the person murdered her. I don't know the reason why Ryder and I got in a crash. And I don't even know the reason why we are in this position right now. I mean I guess matters could have been worse for us, so I'm thankful we are both alive.
I grabbed the phone from beside me, and started scrolling through the thousand of texts I was receiving. A lot of them were numbers that weren't saved in my phone, but in the text itself, the person wrote who they were. A lot of the texts consisted of, "I hope you feel better", "Are you and Ryder okay?", "Everyone misses you. Hope you get well soon.", just little messages like that. Tyler even sent me a message saying he hopes both Ryder and I are okay, and that he will try to visit soon. But no text from Beth. Did she do this? No she wouldn't have. I know that for a fact.
I closed out of my messages, and went on Facebook. On there, people posted and tagged me in more get better soon things. And even some people were posting fake things. Here's one for example.
"I saw Casey and Ryder leaving the parking lot from the dance all drunk. They never actually went into the school, but I guess they were outside drinking. They hit a light pole, and then ran into a ditch. I felt bad for them, so I called the cops. Get better soon guys."
I probably laughed a little to hard at that one. Honestly? I don't drink, and I was on my way to the dance when we got hit. But okay then.
I closed out of that app, and just laid down and stared at the ceiling. Everything about my mom came back to me. She was always so way on me, with made me turn bad. Then once we moved here, she straightened me up, and became very hard on me. Yes, half the time I hated it, but I guess it helped me in the end. I got better grades, and didn't go back to the person I use to be. After a while, she loosened up on me again. I guess because she was able to trust me, and knew I wasn't gonna do that again.
Then Ryder came to play. The day I first met him. He walked into the classroom and sat there on the teachers desk swinging his legs. And then somehow we managed to have every class together. It never took real long for him and I to grow close. I remember going to his house, and his mom freaking out over me, and then him getting kidnapped for the longest time. I remember the feeling I felt when he was protecting me from Tyler when he first showed up here and even the feeling I got when I finally found him. Just everything Ryder and I have been through, we've been through a lot. And of course Mason, Colton, and Beth. I've been through a lot with them too. Many fights, and arguments, but we also had our fun times too. Then Tyler and I came closer again, and I hope we still stay friends.
A tear rolled down my cheek. Not from sadness, but happiness. I've made great friends, and I don't ever wanna loose them. I've lost a great mom already, so I don't wanna loose anyone else.
A knock then the door opened, and Mason and a doctor walked in.
"Here for a check up?" I asked smiling.
"Actually no." The doctor said. I looked over at Mason who just stood there staring at the floor.
"Then what?" I asked.
"Do you remember how the crash happened?" He asked.
"Yeah. Ryder and I were on our way to the dance, and then it happened. Well, not like that quick. But after awhile of driving Ryder said he wanted to tell me something. So he went to go and say it, but when I looked at him I saw a car coming from his side really fast, then it crashed into us, making the car flip over."
"So the other car hit into Ryder's' side?"
"Yes."
"Well I do like to inform you that the driver of the other car did indeed die. But other cases are wanting to see why he did that. We took some tests from him, and waiting for them to come back."
"Wait the person was a guy?" I jolted up to a siting position.
"Yes."
"What did he looked like?"
"Blonde hair, tall, kinda built." Mason looked up, and I looked over at him. He asked the doctors more questions on describing the guy, and the doctor said yes on all of them, beside one.
"Casey.." Mason said real slow. I knew instantly what he was about to say.
"It's Marshal." I said finishing his sentence. Mason nodded.
"Well. I guess we figured out who it was who died." A part of me went really happy about it. I mean I feel bad, but he deserves it. Especially what he's put me through.
"Um. There's one more thing to say." Mason said. He looked very uneasy.
"Casey. Ryder..." The door sung open, and there stood Ryder.
Both Mason and the doctor stood there looking at him shocked.
"But you. Your were. The heart monitor. What?" Mason said all confused.
"I don't know. But I'm alive." Ryder said. He walked over to me very slowly, because you could tell he was in a lot of pain. He dragged his leg behind him, and has his hand holding the left side of his head, wincing.
"Ryder. You need to lay down. Your not okay."
"I have to see Casey."
He reached my bed, and grabbed onto my hand with his free one.
"I thought I was going to loose you." He bent down and whispered in my ear.
"I'm not going anywhere." I smiled slightly.
"I know your not. At long as Im here."
"More like, as long as your here." I said. His head was now resting on my shoulder, and one arm wrapped around me. In that moment, it literally felt like everything was perfect. I guess somehow, I saved him.
