I was filled with silence and darkness. Nothing rang in my ears, nothing bright shown in my eyes. Nothing. Quiet, still, that's the position I was in.

"Hey. I think she's waking up." I heard a fair voice say. I groaned as I opened my eyes and the bright lights hitting me. I shut then quickly again, not wanting to see the bright light and whiteness.

"Where am I?" I asked with my eyes still shut.

I heard shuffling going on, then a hand touch my arm.

"The hospital." I heard the voice say. I couldn't recognize it. In fact, I can't recognize anything right now, or who I am. Maybe this is all apart of just waking up.

My eyes snapped open.

"Why am I in the hospital?" I looked at the person, and searched their face. You could tell they've had lack of sleep because of the bags under their eyes. Also his cheeks red, and you can see tear streak stains. I looked into his eyes, to see concern, worry, and happiness. It's Mason.

"You and Ryder were on the way to the dance, and a car hit y'all. The truck flipped, and you two were both knocked out."

Everything came back to me. Singing in his truck, then him saying all these weird things about him liking me, and not wanting to hurt me. Then that car horn honking. I ever screaming, and hitting my head against the window. I thought that was just a nightmare I had.

A sharp pain rose up my right leg. I looked down at it to see it wrapped in a white cast.

"How long have I been here? And what's wrong with my leg?" I asked wincing as another pain shot through.

"Well you've been asleep for about four days. And no one really knows, but they think when the truck flipped, it also crushed your leg when it hit the door. I don't know that sounds stupid, but I guess it could happen."

"Oh. Wait did you say Ryder?" I asked sitting up slowly. But I fell back down cause the pain was too much.

"Yeah. The truck got hit on Ryder's side, smashing the door in on him." Mason's face fell.

"Is he okay?" Is all I could ask. Mason looked up at me, and his face held sadness. This isn't good. Not at all.

"He hasn't woken up yet. Right now he's on a life support machine."

I felt the tears build up in my eyes. This can't happen. I can't loose him. I feel like this is my fault. If I didn't try pushing him on what he was saying, we would both be fine. We would have had a great night at the dance, and we would be perfectly fine.

But he's on life support.

"Casey." Mason's voice was soft, and he reached his hand up to touch my cheek.

"Don't touch me." My voice was hoarse.

"I was trying to wipe away your tear. But fine." He sighed before sitting back down in the chair across the room. He placed his head in his hands.

"I want to see him." I said after two minutes of silence.

"But you can't get up." Mason said looking at me.

I groaned.

"Well look who is awake." Said someone walking in the door. He was wearing a white coat, and holding a clipboard. This must be my doctor.

"How are you feeling?" He asked standing in front of my bed.

"Okay. In pain, but I guess I'm fine." I mumbled. I still want to see Ryder.

"What hurts?" He asked.

"My head, my leg, and my back." I answered.

"Okay. Well since your awake, we are going to run some tests to see if anything else is wrong with you." He alas as he wrote down stuff on the clipboard.

"What do you mean?"

"To see if you have a concussion, and if anything else is wrong wit your back."

"Anything else with my back?" Okay I'm confused.

"As of right now, your back is severely bruised. But that's when we got you in the ambulance. We are just going to run more scans and see if there are any broken bones, or fractures."

"Oh. Okay."

He turned around and walked out of the room. Again, leaving Mason and I here alone.

"Where my mom?" It hit me that she isn't here. Shouldn't she be here?"

"After y'all got into the crash, they tried to knock mom the door but she wouldn't answer. We still can't get ahold of her."

"That's not like my mom. Especially since it's been a couple days. She'd be checking up on me. Mason, please will you go check on my mom."

"I don't have a key to your house." He answered.

"Go to the backyard, open the grill, and it should be hanging on the top part on the inside of the lid."

"Okay." Mason fave me a soft smile
Before leaving me come plenty alone in the room. I hope my moms okay.

A nurse walked in the room not long after Mason left.

"Hello. How are you?" She asked.

"Fine, but in pain." I rolled my eyes. How many more people are going to ask me this.

"Are you ready to go run the tests?" The other Doctor that came in about five minutes ago now has a wheelchair, and pushed it in the door.

"As ready as I'll ever be I guess." I said.

They started to unhook me from the things that were attached to me, then lifted me up placing me in the wheelchair.

As I got pushed down the hall, I looked around. People coughing, people holding their arms, and doctors rushing around with patients on gurneys. This is the hospital life.

I better get use to it.
