September 4th 2014:
Kayla's POV:
I curled up in my covers and blocked my eyes from the burning sun. I was more tired than ever and hesitant to get up to go to school.

Highschool. Yep, that's right. Your's truely is a freshman, 9th grader, highschooler -if you will! My only question is...how exactly is highschool? Is it fun? Scary? Gross? Weird? Big? Filled with mean people? Overrated? I dont know, and it'd be great to get answers...like now.

My alarm buzzed a few times before I slumped forward and silenced it. Seriously, 6:00am? That's way too early to be getting up. Tch, and I thought 7:00am was bad!

I got up and walked to my closet. What to wear, what to wear... I scan each shirt and pick out my VANS Warped Tour base ball tee.

"Ahhh...perfect." I say out loud to myself.

I shut my door and see my little brother, Joseph, on the other side, crossing his arms in his footy pajamas.

"What're you doing?" I ask, with an offended face.

"Waiting for breakfast! Mom left early for work and Dad's still asleep!" He pouted.

"Ugh. Just eat at school in 2 hours, you're only going into 3rd grade, I am going into 9th, so you should sleep while ya still can, bud." I say, grabbing my black jeans out of my drawer.

"Whatever. You're so bossy! Just 'cause you're older doesnt mean you can treat me like dir--" He ranted until I interrupted.

"Yeah, yeah, go!" I say, pushing him out and slamming my door shut...and locking it.

I begin to get dressed and look in the mirror, my hair is a bit knotted so I brush it out and begin to put on just a smidge of eyeliner.

"Today is already going to be interesting, psht..I can tell." I say, grabbing my bag and heading downstairs.

"Finally!" Joseph complains.

"Oh shush." I say, pouring some orange juice. "Now what do ya want."

"Waffles, please!" He says, happily grinning.

I put a waffle in the toaster and wait for the ding. It comes out and I serve it with butter and syrup.

"Nice!" He says, eating it.

I grab some toast and head towards the door and tie my shoes. I look outside the glass and see some kids my age at the bus stop, most on their phones, some just talking, a few even just standing there...silent...my kind of people!

I walk to where they're standing and wait for the bus.

Im officially, finally, a freshman.
