I walk out of the class and see Skylar waiting on the main floor for me.
"Hey! In study hall today, I decided to write you something. I know, we've only been dating for a short time, but I thought it'd brighten up the drama..here." She say, holding the note in front of her.
"Aww...Sky, this is...so amazing. Thank you.. I really needed it, I think Nathan is pretty teed at me too." I cringe a bit at the thought of the situation.
"Oh that kid who has a crush on you? Why?" Skylar crossed her arms.
"Ugh, he doesn't like me. He's really just a friend, promise..but he's mad because I didn't answer him when he asked if we really kissed..you and I." I explain.
"Oh but he definitely doesn't like ya." Skylar jokes.
"I'm just stupid, I froze up and he just left the room." I say, covering my face with my clammy hand.
"Don't cover that beautiful face." Skylar flirted, moving my hand away.
"Hey!" Leo said, approaching us. Skylar quickly moved her hand away.
"Sup." Skylar says.
"I heard that Nate talked to you, Kay, he's mad. Why couldn't you just tell the truth?" Leo asked me.
"I don't know...It's weird. I'm straight so like..I just didn't want him to think I was queer." I say, looking down and blushing. "If my mom thought I was, she'd hate me."
"You're being over-dramatic..psht..women." Leo says, walking off.
"Wanna walk home?" I ask.
"Yep, let's go." Skylar says, taking my hand.
"As far as anyone knows, this is a friendly hand-hold." Skylar jokes around.
"Hah right." I blush a bit.
We walk over to the bus ramp and get on the bus. I look down in my pocket at the letter and blush. I can't believe Sky wrote me a love note, it makes my heart skip a beat. Skylar and I get on the bus and sit in our regular seat.
"Read it." Skylar asks.
"Hmmm mmkay." I say, un crumpling and unfolding the letter.
"I know that we just started dating not too long ago, but I really want to express my love for you, Kayla. I love you so much, I cannot bear the thought of losing you. Please if youre ever sad, you always have someone to lean on..me. Love you ~Skylar" It read.
"Oh my gosh, I love you so much." I say, hugging her as the bus began to drive away from school.
"I cannot let my mom see this." I continue.
"Yeah... no kidding. It's as good as forbidden." I chuckle, stuffing it in my back pocket once again.
