I wake up and look around where I am, I'm in Skylar's room. I look beside me and see Skylar and I cuddled all night. I look to my other side and see Skylar's brother, Jason, poking my neck.

"Are you Sky's girlfriend?" He asks, continuing to poke. I move his hand away.

"Uh. No! Nothing like that!" I blush and my palms begin to sweat terribly.

"Hah.. right.. well...Skylar!" He yells. Skylar's head shoots up and she looks in our direction.

"Ugh..Jason stop scaring Kayla." Skylar groans.

"I wasn't, I have no interest in scaring your girlfriend. And just 'cause you're 3 years older than me doesn't mean you can yell at me." Jason argues.

"Go!" Skylar demands, pointing towards the door. He quickly scurries out.

"Ugh sorry he was patronizing you like that." Skylar apologizes. "It's 11:30 pm, you'd better call your mom to pick you up for church or whatever." Skylar says, giving me my phone.

I quickly dial the number and call.

"Kayla, I'm on my way, be ready!" My mom quickly hangs up before I can say a word.

"K, I'm gonna get dressed." I get up and grab my bag of clothes. Skylar also gets up and wraps her arms around my hips and rests her head on my shoulder. I remain silent, what exactly is Skylar to me. We're not dating..but I want to.

"You'd better get dressed." Skylar say, releasing her grip and leaving the room.

I begin to get into my church clothes and brush my hair out. I check my phone.

"Sheesh, already 11:50..My mom should be here any minute." I think out loud. I walk downstairs, I see Skylar cooking eggs. I guess her mom already left for work. It sucks her dad lives far away and her mom works a lot of hours. She basically raised herself..

"You're leaving already? Wow.. we should hangout by the pier when you get back...text me, okay?" Skylar says, pouring the egg onto her brother's plate.

"Alright. Will do, I'll tell you all about what we learn. I'm sure you're just thrilled to hear, huh?" I ask, jokingly.

"Hah, definitely!" She chuckles. Just then, I hear my mom's car horn. "Oh, someone's here for you, see ya Kay." She smirks and waves goodbye to me. Just as I leave I hear her brother ask,

"Seriously, is she your girlfriend? She's pretty!"

I walk to my mom's car and get in the passenger's side.

"Alright we have 12 minutes to get there and a few extra to get ready." My mom says, gathering a bunch of papers.

"Sounds nice." I say, twiddling my thumbs in anxiety.

"Well aren't you just talkative today, huh?" My mom says sarcastically.

"Definitely." I say, swallowing my saliva. My mom begins to drive to the church.

"Rowen says that the church today should be talking about quite a controversial subject...." My mom warns.

"Please dont be homesexuality." I think in my head.

"Homosexuality...ergh just the word makes me cringe a bit." My mom says, scrunching her face. I awkwardly look up at her and half-smile.

"I hope that you dont get exposed to it, it's such a terrible thing. It's a sin. It's a disgrace." My mom says glaring.

"Why have such a strong opinion on it, isn't it just as bad as any other sin, like lying and envy?" I ask in curiosity. "Aren't we supposed to 'love thy neighbor'? What happened to that?" I ask in a kind of offensive tone.

"Are you implying you support those people?" My mom asks, horrified.

"Well. I'm not against it." I admit. My mom sighs.

"Let's just go, after today you'll understand." My mom says, letting us leave to go inside.

"Jeez, you shouldn't of argued with mom." My brother proclaims.

We walk inside and we are a bit late and I look up at where th priest is, he's already blabbing about homosexuals. Lovely, right?
