College Girl

I heaved the last of my luggage into the living room of my dorm and dropped it next to the other bags with a big sigh. I turned and smiled at my parents. My mom was wringing her hands nervously and my dad was beaming at me proudly. Alison squealed in delight and ran to hug me. "YOU'RE IN COLLEGE NOW!" she shouted into my ear.

"Yeah yeah i know!" i shouted back patting her back as she jumped up and down in my arms. I rolled my eyes. I let go of her and held her at arms length. "I still wish you were coming here with me." i said sadly pursing my lips. Alison's smile faded.

"I do too." she said mournfully. "But this job. It could be it. They're paying for my fashion school too later and.." she trailed off. I smiled slowly.

"It's ok Alison. You're following your dreams. You're still my best friend." i said with a smile. Alison hugged me again. Tighter this time.

"Just promise me you won't like this new roommate of yours as much as me and Victoria and you won't replace us." she said with a small pout on her lips. I rolled my eyes.

"You guys are like my sisters. I couldn't replace you guys even if i wanted to." Alison squealed and hugged me again. I laughed.

"Knock knock." said a deep voice. My parents parted like the Red Sea opening up the doorway and revealing Jackson.

"Jackson!" Alison shouted rushing toward him and wrapping her slender arms around his waist.

"Hey there Blondie!" Jackson replied just as enthusiastic.

"It's been ages! You never come around!" Alison said hitting him in the chest a couple times. Jackson laughed.

"I've been busy! Work, school. I'm sorry! Besides it's not me moving all the way out to New York." he teased poking her side.

"Don't remind me! I'm already homesick!" Alison wailed putting her hands to the sides of her forehead.

"This is wonderful!" my mother exclaimed.

"Come on you three group picture!" she said motioning for all of us to stand together. "Oh i wish Victoria was here.." she said a bit sadly as she dug out her camera.

"You rang momma?" Someone calls from the open doorway. Victoria. She stands there with her hand on her hip bag in hand sunglasses covering her eyes. Dropping the bag she opens her arms waiting for the giant hug she knows will come. The three of us rush forward. Alison can't stop squealing and Jackson is laughing his ass off because of it. He has a big enough arm span to wrap his arms around the three of us. Not fully but it's still a big feat.

"What the heck are you doing here!" I shout once the noise dies down and we release each other.

"I'm here to see my little baby off to college." Victoria replies smushing my cheeks together. Laughing i shake her hands away.

"I can't believe you're here." i say breathlessly.

"One last afternoon with you guys as a group. I can't stay long. I should actually be in a different state right now but I'm breaking the rules. Alison is leaving soon and you're starting college in a couple of days. I have to be here." Victoria said brightly. Smiling widely i pull her in for a hug.

"Oh my god. I'm going to miss the both of you." i say pulling back and glancing at Victoria then Alison who is know whimpering into her hands looking like she's going to cry.

"You have Jackson to annoy and bug for a whole year though. That's going to be fun." Victoria say brightly punching Jackson's arm who rolls his eyes but grins happily.

"Oh yeah definitely. I'll have tons of fun ruining his life and crashing his circle of friends." i tease punching him lightly.

"I've already told them about you." Jackson says with a smile.
