"Hey there Ms. Collins!" Mr. Pierce called out as I stopped through the door into his class. I have known him for three weeks now, since school started, and in the near month that I've known him, Mr. Pierce has become a good friend. I never thought I would become so close to a teacher, in such a short time too. He had a great teaching method and I was always excited to get to his class. It was the only bright spot on Tuesdays and Thursday's.
"Mr. Pierce." I replied sarcastically. "You're early." I told him. Mr. Pierce laughed.
"No, you're early. You're always early. Why aren't you out doing teenager things?" He questioned coming to sit down in the desk next to me.
"Teenager things?" I questioned trying not to laugh.
"Yeah, like sleeping in! Lots of kids do that or is it not hip anymore?" I couldn't help but laugh now.
"You weren't a teenager that long ago!" I exclaimed. It was true. He wasn't. Mr. Pierce informed me that he just graduated the year before. He wasn't that much older than the seniors here now. "You're not allowed to say hip." I joked nudging him. Mr. Pierce laughed.
"I think I'm allowed to. It's the hip thing to do." We laughed again. "So how's that boyfriend of yours?" He questioned. "Overseas, still tough isn't it?" Usually I would feel uncomfortable talking to a teacher about my love life but he was actually helpful having been in a sort of overseas relationship himself and by sort of I mean across the country.
"Yeah I mean. The time zones are a bit weird so it is harder to talk to him but he's coming down for Christmas. It seems kind of far away, and it is four months is kind of far but I think I can manage it." I replied with a small smile. Just thinking about Niall gave me butterflies.
The past three weeks he's moved all over South America and then back around to Europe. The tours been going pretty well so far with every stadium sold out being sold out and all. Niall said its a great experience playing in these stadiums because there are more opportunities for fans to see them, especially after they added extra dates to certain parts of the tour.
He also loves the whole feel of the stadium. There's so many people and the noise is suppose to be insane. It's kind of surreal he said, for them. All these people, thousands of them gathered just to see them. There's suppose to be a lot crazy energy. The way he describes it makes me wish I was there with him to experience it but I can wait until they come here to L.A.
"Yoohoo! Earth to Sarah." Mr. Pierce says with a laugh. "You spaced out on me. Thinking about your boyfriend?" He teased with a small smile. I blushed and stared at my desk.
"How could you tell?" I asked. Mr. Pierce laughed.
"You got this dreamy look in your eyes." He said dramatically waving out his hands. I rolled my eyes at him as more students began filing into the room. Mr. Pierce nodded to them as he stood up and headed back to his desk.
I shook my head and concentrated on my phone in front of me. Frowning slightly I decided to turn it off now. Last week I got in trouble in Ms. Twill's class when it vibrated, in my backpack. I don't know how she heard it or how she figured out it was my phone when anyone's phone could I have vibrated but she took it away anyways. I think she has it out for me.
Ever since I stepped into her class she's hated me. Her venomous, hateful words are usually directed towards me when someone else in the class angers her or if we all collectively fail a test she's given us somehow, she seems to make it my fault, as if I'm a bad influence. She hasn't let up either. I'm starting to think there should be some sort of law against verbally attacking your students.
"Okay everyone!" Mr. Pierce calls out at the front of the classroom. I sit up straighter and pay attention. "The last test i handed out... Well let's just say I'm not impressed." Mr. Pierce usually isn't this serious so we must have done pretty bad. "We have one perfect score, five mildly perfect scores, six low scores and well the rest of you.. Failed." Twelve out of the twenty did okay on this test. I swallowed. I wasn't liking the odds. Hopefully I was one of the people who got a mildly good score.
