After talking with Niall for s couple more minutes he had to leave. More rehearsal. "You guys work too hard." I stare brushing back a strand of my hair. Niall just smiles and shrugs.

"It's for the fans." He replies simply. That's always his answer. After a heartfelt goodbye Niall and I hung up and I became really... Bored. There was a TV sure but nothing on interested me much. I didn't have any books to read at the moment either. With two more hours until Jasmin got home I sighed and decided to head into the lounge area by the front of the dorm building. Why not make some new friends?

Checking my hair in the mirror and fixing my shirt I slipped my phone, keys, and wallet into my pockets before walking out the front door and closing it shut behind me. There had been a lot of noise coming from the hallway and when I stepped outside of my room I understood why. Living in a co-Ed dorm building there were guys and girls all over the place. They were running up and down the halls, shouting at each other, even playing games and throwing beach balls around. For some reason it felt like high school, which I was a little glad of. I didn't know if I was ready to get rid of my inner child just yet, or if I ever should.

Out in the lounge there were definitely a lot of people just roaming around and talking. I shifted back and forth on the balls of my feet and shoved my hands into my back pockets unsure of who to approach to what I should say if I approached them. Luckily I didn't have to say a damn thing. "Hey!" Startled I turned to find a red headed girl smiling at me like I was her best friend.

"Oh, um hi." I said with a smile.

"My names Anna. Pronounced like On-a from that Frozen movie." She stuck out her hand, still smiling.

"Oh, well my name is Sarah. Pronounced like Sar-uh." Ana laughed at this covering her mouth with her hand.

"Nice to meet you. Are you a freshman here?" I nodded my head slowly unsure if she was in the same boat as me or not. I didn't know if your grade status mattered here yet. "Cool, I'm a junior here. New actually so no worries. We're both going to try and get a feel for things around here." She says gesturing out toward the sea of kids. I nod my head and smile.

"Oh that's cool. Where did you transfer from?" I question.

"Oh Penn State actually." She says thumbing behind her like Pennsylvania was somehow trailing behind her.

"So you're from Pennsylvania?" I question. Ana shakes her head no.

"California actually. I moved out there to get away from my family and I've moved back because my moms sick." She shrugs but continues to smile.

"What's she sick with?" Ana seems really open and doesn't hesitate to answer.

"Well not really sick as more of she has cancer." The honest answer shocks me a bit.

"I'm sorry." I say, taken back. Ana shrugs again a slight solemn look on her face.

"It's okay. She's had it for most of the year now and treatment seems to be going well. The Doctors expect a full recovery." I don't understand, really, why she's telling me all of this.

"That's good news then." Ana nods and smiles, but now I'm uncomfortable and don't know what else to say. She laughs and I stiffen a little, confused.

"Hey it's okay. I'm sorry if that all took you by surprise I just like to get all the heavy stuff out of the way so you sort of know what you're getting yourself into. Friend wise I mean." I nod my head and smile as best as I can. "So do you have any heavy stuff you want to get off your chest?" I think on it for a couple of seconds.

"I'm dating Niall from One Direction." I blurt out suddenly. Ana and I just sort of stare at each other wide eyed for a really, really long time. So long I think she just might run away and scream this piece of information from the tops of mountains. Instead she does something I didn't expect. She laughs.

"Oh, so you're a One Direction fan! That's not to heavy but good to know. I won't dis them in front of you." She laughs again and I sigh in relief. She didn't take me seriously. Good job Sarah. Learn to keep your damn mouth shut. When Ana stops laughing she hooks her arm through mine and says, "I have a feeling this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." With that she leads me away to God knows where. I don't object though because I'm going to need all the friends I can get.
