A/N- just something quick, I have just been asked if this is based on Real Life... It isn't, this is a fanfic and Adeline doesn't exhaust in real life.
Chapter 7
At lunch the next day Katie seemed really hyped up about something, I practically had to hold her down, else she would have bounced out of her chair. 'Katie? What's up?' I asked her over and over.
Once she had calmed down a bit she turned to face me, 'you haven't heard? Oh no you haven't heard. Well Jessica, the other new girl is throwing a party Friday night. And everyone is invited. You will come wont you?'
I frown, what was Jessica playing at? 'I can't, I'm leaving early on Friday to go to New York for the weekend. Sorry.' I released her shoulders, and went back to my sandwich, not as hungry as I had been earlier.
Katie let out a long sigh, 'fine. But I am so dragging you to the next high school party. Even if you are going somewhere like New York. By the Way, lucky. I'm super jealous!'
Looking around I noticed that Austin and Tyson weren't here. 'Hey, were are the boys?' I asked Katie as my phone began to buzz, and since it was lunch I was aloud to use it. 'Hold that thought...
Hello?'
'Hey Hun, it's just me. I have to work late tonight, so do you want to bring a friend home? We can drop them home around 9 ish?'
'Oh ok, that sounds great, let me just ask Katie...
Um Katie, my mum has to work late. Do you want to come over tonight. We can drop you home?'
Katie smiled, whipping out her own phone, 'sure, let me just text my dad. It's a yes though.' She started typing away on her phone.
'She said yes mum.'
'Great. See you later honey. Your dad might be home when you get there.'
'Ok, tell him I'm bringing a friend. Oh should we walk home?'
'I forgot about that. I will get you a cab and a key. Can you let the dogs out too?'
'Okay. Anything else?'
'Nope. Now I had to go, Jennette wants me, bye Hun'
'Jennette who? And bye, love you.'
'Jennette McCurdy. Love you to.'
'Okay, bye.'
'Bye.'
I slid my phone into my pocket, and turned to Katie, 'so, have your parents texted back yet?' She flashed me a thumbs up, before going back to texting on her phone.
The key was brought to me during last Period, and I shoved it into my pocket, along with my phone. I was in English, and it was pretty boring. We were meant to be reading a book, but I've read this one so many times that its become boring, so I was thankful when the bell rang.
I met Katie by my locker, and shoved my books into it before linking my arm with hers and going out front of the school where there was a taxi waiting. I slid into the back as the driver glanced at me. 'You Adeline Grande?'
I nod, 'yup, I think my mum told you where to go?' He nodded, before pulling out of the lot and speeding towards my large house/mansion. Grabbing my backpack I jumped out the car, pulling Katie with me and waving to the driver who said my mum had already paid him.
As he sped off I unlocked the door, bombarded with two hyper active dogs. Katie squealed slightly, but bent down to stroke them. 'Thats Toulouse, he's a puppy. And that is Coco. She's about 4 ish.' Toulouse started to lick Katie's face, so I gently picked him up and went through the kitchen and to the back door, opening it I let both dogs out.
Katie marvelled at the garden, then spotted the pool, 'you have a pool! Wow, you are so lucky!' Slowly I lead her to my bedroom, grabbing the rest of a packet of biscuits on the way. We were just settling on my bed when the door clicked downstairs.
'Adeline, Im home.' Nathan called from the foyer. I leapt of my bed, only pausing to tell Katie it was only my dad. Running down the stairs I practically flew into his open arms. 'Hey Princess.'
I smiled at him, giving him a strong hug. 'Hey Daddy. Mum isn't going to be home till late. So I have a friend around. Mum said I could.' Nathan pointed behind me, and I whirl around to find Katie frozen on the stairs. 'Dad this is Katie. Katie this is my dad.'
She blinked in shock, 'your... Your dad is Nathan Sykes from The Wanted?!' She exclaimed looking him over. 'H... Hi, I'm Katie.' She calmed down enough to walk down the stairs and stand in front of him.
Nathan gave her a toothy smile, 'hey love. I'm Nathan. So, your Adeline's new friend?' Katie nodded, her eyes still the size of sauces. 'Well, it's nice she's made a friend. Eh princess?' He nudged me playfully.
Shoving him back I laughed, 'what ever dad. Um Katie, do you want to go back to my room?' Breaking out of her daze she allowed me to drag her back up that stairs and along the hall to my bedroom.
'Oh My God! Why didn't you tell me that your dad was Nathan Sykes?' She squeals once the doors are closed. 'This is so exciting! Wait how is he your dad?'
I bit my lip, looking away, 'I'm adopted, my mum adopted me last week. You can't tell anyone though, of who my parents are, or the adopted thing. I couldn't tell you because I didn't want you to like me because of who my parents are. I'm sorry.'
Embracing me she patted my back, 'I like you because of who you are. But I understand, so I'm not angry. And I won't question you further. Except to ask, if Nathan's your dad, who's your mom?'
Giggling slightly I hugged her back, 'my mum is Ariana Grande. Hence my surname.'
By the time Ariana came home Katie was well over the fact that both of my adopted parents were famous. I just hoped she wouldn't go full fangirl. Luckily she didn't and when I raced down the stairs to greet Ariana, Katie walked down calmly.
She hugged me back tightly as I embraced her, 'hey honey. Have fun at school today?' I nod happily into her. 'Good good.' She shifted to face Katie, 'hi! You must be Katie. I'm Adeline's mum, Ariana.'
Katie smiled softly, 'I know, Adeline told me. Yeah, I'm Katie. Adeline's Best Friend.' I smiled at that, and I knew she actually meant it, she wasn't trying to get in with me and my parents.
Ariana giggled, 'so what do you girls want to eat? Pasta?' We both nodded, hungry despite our snack of biscuits. 'Good, you go entertain yourselves whilst I go make it. I'll call you when I'm finished. Oh, and if a blond girl comes through the door tell her I'm in the kitchen. Her name will be Jenette.'

Woo, Adeline invite someone home. Is Katie to he trusted though? Secrets. And what is Jessica playing at? Adeline has a plan forming though so down fret.

Fun Fact: not really a fact but I have to say, if I discovered my BFF was adopted by Ariana Grande I would seriously freak.
