"Miss Kingsley... Miss Kingsley, would you be so kind as to take your seat? You're holding up the lesson." The croaky voice and scrawny fingers of Mr Dickens startled me.
I looked down to find Rylan in his seat, as if nothing happened.
That couldn't have been a figment of my imagination now... Could it? It felt so... Real? So intense. Was it all in my head? He called me Elora, how could he possibly know?
"I'm sorry, sir." I said while taking my seat.
I was still as baffled as ever, I mean I know I get lost in my thoughts a lot, but this... This was different, like way different. I've never experienced something that was so vivid before, I mean I could literally still feel the tingles running down my spine.
As I glanced at Rylan in the most subtle way I could manage... My suspicions seemed valid.
The jerk appeared to be quite amused, with a self satisfied smirk that was pretty evident.
I mean surely he couldn't be that amused by a teacher scolding me now, there was obviously more to it. Well I plan on getting to the bottom of this. Regardless of however attractive I may find the jerk, there was no way in hell I would be having steamy day dreams of him, especially not one with him calling me 'Elora'. But I mean if he did get that close to me, which I'm certain he did, wouldn't someone notice? Wouldn't Mr Dickens notice? It just doesn't make any sense.
"Is something the matter? You look puzzled" came the concerned voice of Rylan.
Is this guy for real? I mean, I don't know how, but he managed to get too close for comfort without anyone noticing. And now he's acting as if nothing happened? Geez Aves, you sound deranged even to your own ears.
"No, I'm fine" I said with a forced smile.
He simply nodded and got on with his note taking.
I decided to do the same... Perhaps, I'll just have to add vivid day dreaming to my long list of weird attributes.
Much to my dismay, the jerk was in all my classes, like every single one of them so far... And he even chose to sit next to me in all of them. Though, I'm sure it's nothing to be concerned about, he just needs to settle in and make some friends, then he'll be out of my hair.
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't some snob- well okay maybe I can be quite snobbish at times, but this isn't one of those times- that wasn't considerate about new people, it's just that there was something about this new person in particular that threw me off.
Needless to say, I was beyond relieved when the bell rang for lunch.
We stood in the cafeteria line to get our lunch, I was starving and since I'd eaten my apple during second period, I couldn't wait to get my hands on some real food.
I filled my tray with French fries, pancakes and choc chip cookies. I got my bubblegum milkshake and I was good to go.
I found Rylan, leaning against a wall, patiently waiting for me with a... A salad?
