Gym class was my favorite. I wasn't a fitness freak or anything. I just enjoyed running sessions when I could manage to get out of bed early. Running to some of my favorite songs provided me with the ultimate escape from reality. Gym was more of a fun class where everyone got to catch up either way.

I was right about having Luke and Leona around, it certainly helped with my Rylan situation.

I couldn't help but ponder over it... I was getting some really weird vibes from him but that might just be new guy weirdo vibes instead of weirdo vibes that could be dangerous.

The rest of the week was pretty uneventful. I was getting used to the occasional zoning out involving Rylan. He was starting to fit in a bit more. Or maybe I was just warming up to him. That was until Friday...

We were at our usual cafeteria spot. "Rylan" a squeaky voice beamed, as I was munching on my cheetos.

One of Rylan's fangirls I assume. In fact I think Leona may have joined that bandwagon too now.

Anyway, back to the obnoxiously loud girl. She made her way to our table and immediately tried to pull Rylan in for a hug. Rylan looked like he was about to shove her off and I tried my best to stifle my laughter.

"You didn't forget your homegirl Stacey, did you?!" She exclaimed, probably noticing how perplexed Rylan seemed.

"I'm not sure I remember you".

"You're still quite the comedian. I haven't seen you at practice recently". Stacey replied.

Practice? Was he in a band or something? Rylan still didn't seem to recognize this girl. He either had the memory of a goldfish... Or was this part of his game plan to get her hooked? I have to admit this girl was supermodel gorgeous. And well some guys feel the need to play hard to get sometimes.

"I've... Uh... I've been busy" he seemed to force a smile. Since when does Mr Arrogant stutter?

"Are you wearing contacts? Those look pretty cool". Now that got my attention. Was I right before?

"Uhm, no".

"Could've sworn your eyes were brown" she replied, whipping out her phone and scrolling for a bit.

"Yes they were." She exclaimed. Revealing a picture of him standing next to her and another guy, holding a guitar. The guy in the picture looked so much warmer and happier compared to the guy standing in front of us. I couldn't help but wonder why.

The sound of the buzzer saved Rylan from the 411.

"It was good catching up, Lacey" he said and disappeared at lightening speed.

Lacey? Was this dude thinking about some Victoria's secret model or something? From the picture they seemed pretty close. So why didn't he recognize her? Or remember her name at least? He genuinely seemed like a fish out of water. Why didn't his current demeanor match the picture? Did something happen to him? And why would he feel the need to lie about wearing contacts. Lots of people do; no harm in that.

So many unanswered questions. This just added to my suspicion of him.
