-Cody's POV-

I gulped, "No longer help me?" I rose from the chair I was sitting in as I clenched my fists, "I've been here for seven years, Mrs. Kelly. And you now decide to tell me you can't help me?"

She crossed her arms, "Cody, I...I really did try to do the best I could but..."

"So what are you going to do? Are you going to send me to some other mental facility?" I cut her off.

"No," She placed her hands on the desk and stood up, "I feel that we, and any other facility out there, have exercised our abilities to help you as much as we could, Cody. You've been hiding for a large part of your life and it's time for you to be alive again."

I raised my eyebrow in confusion, she completely lost me with her cryptic words.

She heaved a sigh, "I'm sending you out into the real world, Cody."

"What?" I shrieked. The guards had rushed up to my sides and we were ready to pinion my arms behind my back if I dared to lash out, "Into the real world? Mrs. Kelly!"

She pouted, "I just don't think you need us anymore. You've been having less frequent visions of your past and I think it's time for you to be on your own! You can't stay here forever, dear."

I crossed my arms as tears filled my eyes, "What about Anthony?"

"Honey, he's..."

"I thought he was discharged," I croaked, "Why is he back in here?"

"He never was discharged, Cody," She told me blankly, "He was the one who escaped. We thought it would be best if you thought..." I smacked the cup of coffee she had on her desk onto the floor. And then it was her entire desk, laptop and lamp and all. She frowned, "Cody..."

"You told me to trust you!" I shouted, "And I was stupid enough to tell you everything! But you couldn't tell me about one of my best friends!?!"

Mrs. Kelly rolled her eyes, "Cody, pack your things. You'll be leaving in an hour."

I was picked up by the two men and taken out of the room, where I was dropped in my room. They threw a gray duffel bag they gave all the discharged at me before the door closed. I wiped the single tear that had fallen from my eye and began to pack up the things I had kept under my bed secretly when I heard a faint, "Psst!" I stood up and walked up to the door, seeing Anthony standing in his old cell, which was conveniently across from mine. "Psst!"

"What?" I responded in an angry whisper.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Hey! Quiet you two!" One of the guards shouted.

"Oh, go fuck off..." Anthony murmured. The guard shot him an angry look and Anthony just stuck his tongue out at him. The guard flipped him off before strutting away.

"I'm packing," I whispered back, "I'm being discharged. Like I thought you were."

"I'm sorry, Cody!" He screamed under his voice, "Okay? I just...you wouldn't see me in the same way if I told you I escaped. You're lucky I even showed my face around here to see you...because I wouldn't be here if I didn't come visit you."

"So now it's my fault?" I shot back, astonished he was blaming this on me.

"I was fine until I came here and they caught me..." He smacked his door, causing a loud clanking sound to echo down the hallway, "Why are you being discharged anyways? I thought you said you'd never leave this place."

"I thought so too," I remarked before going back to packing. He shouted a few more things to me, which I ignored as I shoved all of the mementos I had kept into the bag, looking at everything. They were all things Anthony had given me when we sneaked out. A T-shirt with Anthony and his friend (whose name I believe is Ian) on it for some thing they did called Smosh, the chain necklace Anthony gave me with a knife charm on it (good thing no one saw it or they would've taken it away from me), and a movie stub from when we went to see Super 8 in theaters. Unfortunately, we got caught and were escorted back to the facility.

I zipped the bag up and slung it over my shoulder. "Hey!" I yelled down the hall, "I'm ready!"

The guards walked up to my door and unlocked it. I walked out between them and up to Anthony's cell. He stood there and smirked, "Hey, promise to be there for me when I get out?"

Even though I was mad at him, I couldn't help but reply with a smile, "Of course."

He heaved a sigh before I was dragged away by the guards. I was shoved into the discharge wing, where Mrs. Kelly handed my a slip of paper. I took it into my hands and noticed there was an address, a phone number, and a name on it.

"Now, most people are just given a good luck," Mrs. Kelly stated, tapping on the index-card-sized piece of paper I had in my hands, "But since you're practically family here, we all thought it would be nice to guide you in the right direction."

"What does this have to do with it, though?" I inquired.

She smirked, "That's a place where I know you'll be safe, Cody. I know the person very well and I'm almost positive they'll do you good."

"Who is it...?" I squinted my eyes to look at the paper, "Ian He-cocks? Who is that?"

"He's my nephew," She answered, "And he's a really good kid. I'm sure he'll be very helpful to you."

I raised my eyebrow, "How am I to get to this place? I don't know where anything is. I don't even know what city we're in."

"We're in Sacramento, honey," She reassured me with a faint smile, "And they'll..." She motioned to the two large men standing at my sides, "...drop you off there. Just walk up to the door, introduce yourself, and tell them Aunt Kelly brought you."

I crossed my arms, "This sounds difficult."

"Honey, do you want to be better or not?" She asked with an aggravated chuckle.

"Quite frankly not," I replied. She glared at me, "Anthony just came back and you're making me leave!"

"It's for your own good, Cody!" Mrs. Kelly yelled at me. She shook her head, "Never mind. I'm going to miss you, Cody. Goodbye."

And before I could even say anything, I was escorted into a large, black van and we were off. As we drove down street after street of "Sacramento," as Mrs. Kelly informed me, I couldn't help but recognize some of the houses from my childhood.

We stopped in front of one small house, with white exterior siding, green grass, and a pink flamingo in the small garden. The men who drove me here opened the door and helped me out. I walked up to the door all on my own and looked back for assistance, but they just stood in front of the van with their hands crossed over their front and a stern look on their faces.

I raised my shaky hand to knock on the door. I hit the door three times before lowering my hand back to my side and waiting anxiously for the door to open. And when it did, the person inside had just as confused of a look on his face as I did.

I forced a smile on my face, "Are you..." I looked down at the card I had folded up and then back up at him, "Ian He-cocks?"

"Yeah..." He replied slowly, "And who are you?"

"I'm Cody Holt. And I was sent here on behalf of your Aunt Kelly."

His eyes widened, "Cody?"
