-Ian's POV-

I lied in bed, my hands folded over my stomach as I stared at the dark ceiling above my head. Next to me lied Melanie, who was sound asleep. I haven't been able to sleep these last two months. Too much was going on in my head - with the whole Cody thing, the death of my Aunt, and the loss of my best friend.

I rolled on my side away from Melanie and heaved a sigh. I missed Cody. I felt terrible about what went down between us. I didn't know what I was thinking when I said that the two of us would never work out - that we were from two different worlds. I tried to convince myself that I was more in love with Melanie and that's why I said those things, but deep down, I knew that wasn't the case. I loved Cody. And I was an idiot that day.

I swung my legs over the side of the bed and put my head in my hands. Sleeping was futile.

"Hey," Melanie's voice emanated from behind me, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," I murmured under my breath, not looking back at her, "Go back to bed." I heard the sheets shuffle behind me and the next I know Melanie's sitting next to me.

"Babe, you've been doing this every night. Something's got to be up."

I shook my head, "You wouldn't understand, Melanie." I rose to my feet and started pacing back and forth.

She crossed her arms over her chest, "Try me."

I stopped in my tracks and slowly looked back at her, "You want to know what's wrong? What's wrong is that...that I don't even know what the fuck I'm doing anymore!" I screamed, getting all in her face, "I lost my Aunt. I lost my best friend. I lost the...the love of my life! Everything is just...wrong!"

She hung her head, "You didn't lose me..."

"It's because you refuse to leave!" I yelled, "I've tried to tell you that things aren't working out between us, but you refuse to listen! You always say 'we can work this out, babe'. And we do, but it lasts for only a few days! Melanie, I...we can't do this anymore!"

"Ian, we can..."

"No!" I boomed, backing away from her and grabbing onto my hair, "This is exactly what I'm talking about! We try and try to work things out and it doesn't work, Melanie! It just doesn't!"

"What are you saying?" She croaked.

"I'm saying we're over," I stated, hanging my head, "Like I said, I can't do this back and forth shit anymore." She remained silent. I heaved a sigh and turned around, walking out of the bedroom and closing the door behind me. I made my way into the front room and sighed.

-Anthony's POV-

"That ought to do it!" I wrapped the last piece of gauze on her arm with tape and observed my work. I gave Cody a smile, which she returned kindly. I tucked a piece of her long, brunette hair behind her ear before sitting back on the cold, tiled kitchen floor. "So, how does it feel?"

She shrugged her shoulders, "It still hurts like hell."

"Well how does this make you feel?" I asked as I crawled over to her and pulled her into a kiss. She wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled us even closer. We pulled out of the kiss but stayed close so that our noses were almost touching.

She ran her fingers through my hair and sighed, "What's wrong with me?" I gave her a confused look, "One minute I'm ready to kill you and the next I'm kissing you."

I chuckled before pulling her into another kiss. I leaned my head against hers, "Nothing's wrong with you. You're perfect just the way you are."

She chuckled, "You don't have to lie to me, Anthony. There's something wrong with me."

"Nothing's wrong with you, Cody." I repeated myself. She stared at me for the longest time before I stood up and extended my hand out to her, "Come on."

"What? Why?" She inquired.

"Come on," I repeated. She cautiously placed her hand in mine and I pulled her up. We stood so close that our breaths began to mix with one another.

"Where are we going?" She asked softly, innocence in her tone.

"You'll see," I replied with a slight chuckle. I directed her into her bedroom and closed the door behind us. Once the door was I closed, I slipped my hands underneath her jaw and kissed her. Cody wrapped her arms around my lower back and pulled us closer. The two of us stumbled towards the bed and fell onto it, still locked at the lips as we started pulling off each other's clothes.

-Cody's POV-

I woke up to the sound of someone pounding on the front door, shouting, "SACRAMENTO POLICE! OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW BEFORE WE HAVE TO USE FORCE!" I immediately opened my eyes and looked over at Anthony, who was sound asleep next to me. "YOU'VE GOT ONE MORE CHANCE TO OPEN THIS DOOR BEFORE WE BREAK IT DOWN!" The cop yelled again. I sat up and turned towards Anthony.

"Anthony," I whispered, shaking him. He didn't move an inch, "Anthony! Get up!"

He moaned and turned away from me.

"The police are here!" I added, still in a hushed tone.

"What!?!" He shouted, sitting straight up. I put my finger up to my lips. He leaned in and asked in a much quieter tone, "What are the police doing here?"

"I don't know," I replied.

"YOU'VE GOT ONE MORE FUCKING CHANCE!" The cop screamed, "OPEN THIS GODDAMN DOOR BEFORE I OPEN IT FOR YOU!"

"We got to go!" He exclaimed. I nodded my head in agreement. The two of us crawled out of bed and started slipping back into our clothes. I got new ones and Anthony pulled the clothes I bought him back on.

Anthony opened my window to its fullest extent and looked back at me, his eyes telling me I needed to climb out. I nodded my head and did as he said. As I set foot on the grass, I heard the front door bust down. He glanced over his shoulder quickly before jumping out and slamming the window down.

"Come on!" He cried as he grabbed my hand and dragged me to the front of the house. Just as we reached the sidewalk, a familiar car drove up. The window rolled down to reveal Ian leaning on the center console.

"Cody, you're just the person I wanted to see," Ian told me before he noticed the police cars, "Hey, what's going on here?"

"We'll tell you later," Anthony said for me before opening the backseat door open and shoving me inside the vehicle. He got in right after and slammed the door behind him, "But right now you need to drive."

"What? Why?" He retorted, confused.

"Just drive!" Anthony shouted. Ian stepped on the gas pedal and we sped forward.
