-Ian's POV-
When I was with Melanie at the beach, all I could think about was Cody. I was afraid that those people from the Insane Asylum would come and get her. I guess Melanie picked up on it because she made us leave early. When I dropped her off at her house, she didn't kiss me goodnight or hug me goodbye. She just walked in, not even saying a word to me.
A few weeks had passed, and all was doing well. Cody seemed to be really getting used to everything. She became part of the Smosh Games crew, and she even helped me with some Smosh videos. She's even started to make some friends on her own. I'm really proud of her.
One day, Melanie and I had planned to look for a house to move in with each other, leaving Cody on her own at my house, something I still wasn't too keen on. The same things worried me. When I returned late in the evening, I saw she was sitting in the living room on the couch.
"Hey!" I greeted, sitting down beside her. I looked at the TV and saw she was watching some show called Bates Motel. "How was your day?"
"Quiet," She answered with a slight chuckle.
That's when I noticed the dried tears streaks down her cheeks. I also noticed she was shaking. And she looked tense. Something I thought we moved on from.
"What's wrong, Cody?" I inquired.
She glanced over at me,"Nothing. Everything's fine, Ian."
"You know you can tell me anything, Cody," I stated, "That's what I'm here for."
She glanced over at me and sighed, "Fine...Ian, I think it's time I go out on my own."
"What?" I croaked, shocked by this news, "What do you mean?"
She shrugged her shoulders, "I just think you've done all you can for me. In fact, I can't thank you enough for what you've done. But it's time I go out on my own." She turned towards me, pulling her legs in, "I mean, it's not like I'd totally just leave. I'm still helping you with Smosh, right?"
"Yeah..." I retorted, sort of zoned out. I didn't want to her to leave. Months ago, I didn't even like this girl. All I knew her as was the girl Anthony was hung up on. And I couldn't care less about her. But now I know her as Cody, the girl who I was told needed my help, and she's all I care about.
She sighed, "And while you were out, I talked to Mrs. Kelly."
I raised my eyebrow in confusion, "You talked to my Aunt?"
"She called the house," Cody explained to me, "I picked up, she was surprised to hear me. She told me she wanted to talk to you, but I told her you were out. We ended up talking to each other for a while, mostly about how I've been doing and stuff. She told me that if I was ready, they have a place for me to go to. That's what she was going to tell you."
"Oh..." I remarked sadly.
"She said I could leave whenever I was ready, just to make sure to tell you," She added.
"So...you're leaving tonight, I'm guessing?" I asked her. Sort of hoping she was, that'd make it a hell of a lot easier for me to tell her about me moving in with Melanie in our new place. But part of me hoped she wasn't, part of me wanted her to move into this new house with me.
"No," She answered softly, "I wasn't planning on it. At least that soon, that is."
I tried my best to hide the excitement in my tone, "Really?"
"I'm not ready to be on my own just yet," She smirked slightly and blushed a bright red color, "And I don't want to leave you, Ian."
"I don't want to leave you either, Cody," I remarked with a grin.
When it was time to go to bed, I asked if she needed anything. She told me no and said goodnight. She walked into Anthony's bedroom and closed the door behind her. After I did all of my usual stuff (brushing my teeth, putting my pajamas on, etc.), I thought I'd check in on her. I found her sitting on the bed, holding shirt in her hands.
"What are you doing there?" I inquired.
She looked up at me so quickly, I jumped, "What? Oh...uh..." She set aside the shirt and wiped the tears from under her eyes before turning towards me and answering, "I was just...uh..."
"Is that Anthony's shirt?" I then went on to ask her.
She looked down at it and slowly nodded her head yes.
"I miss him too," I remarked, moving the shirt so I could sit down next to her, "I wonder how he's doing."
"Me too," Cody added quietly, crossing her arms over her chest.
-Anthony's POV-
I was sitting at one of the lunch tables, picking at the shit that those nasty lunch ladies threw on my tray. After being shot in the side, I was brought back to this hell hole. This time, the third time I've been here, I'm under super heavy surveillance. I have guards by me twenty-four seven just in case I decide to "act out", as I've been told. I can't even go to the bathroom without having someone right by my side.
Just as I was about to eat, something I hadn't done in a while, she sat across from me and folded her hands on the table. "Hello, Anthony."
I threw the plastic spoon down on my tray and glared at her, "What do you want, Mrs. Kelly? I've done everything you've asked me to! I did your stupid ass journal entry for today and told you how I feel, what else do you want?"
She grinned, "Surprisingly enough, you actually have a visitor."
I raised my eyebrow in confusion, "Me? A visitor?" I laughed at her, "You must have come to the wrong person, because no one in their right mind would come and visit me..." I started picking at the food again.
"It's Cody," She told me. I slowly looked up at her, "She's waiting at window four for you."
I jumped to my feet and ran down the halls, pushing through the visiting area doors. My heart raced a mile a minute with each step I took closer to the window. I got to the window and saw Cody sitting on the opposite side of the glass. She smiled at me and picked up the phone. I sat down and picked up the phone.
"Hi, Anthony," She greeted.
