Unlike the past few days, Natalie woke up with a smile. She wanted to continue sleeping, but she had to work. She slipped off her pajama pants and put on the skinny jeans she had set out last night. She put on a black tank top since all her other clothes were dirty and she was too lazy to do her own laundry. She looked into her mirror and sighed. "Why can't you be real, Rex...?"
Rex sat once again at a Dream Viewer. "What are you waiting for?" Alexander asked in an annoyed tone. "If my darling happens to fall asleep I don't want to be absent for her dream," said Rex. Alexander rolled his eyes and strolled away.
Natalie sat down. She was at work, and there were very few costumers. "Now's the perfect time..." she closed her eyes. With all her energy, she blocked out the noise around her. She finally became unaware of her surroundings enough to begin to drift to sleep.
As soon as Rex noticed that Natalie was sleeping, he turned to the Dream Viewer and looked into it. He materialized in the dream once again and went to greet Natalie.
Alexander was leaning up against the wall when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked to see another Nightmare standing behind him, with short blonde hair, a choker, a regular chain necklace, and multiple rings on his fingers. "Can I help you?" said Alexander.
"Just wanted to make sure you and your fine looking brother were okay. I witnessed yesterday's, ah, events," he said. "Fine looking brother...?" Alexander repeated questioningly, his eyebrow raised at him. "You bet. See ya around," said the Nightmare. With a wink, he walked away. Alexander shook his head.
"Rex!" Natalie exclaimed. He smiled and opened his arms for her to jump into. "I'm assuming you can't stay for long, darling?" Rex asked. "No..." said Natalie with a frown. Rex pet the top of her head and smiled. "It's alright, love. There's always tonight," he said. Natalie nodded. Rex held Natalie in his arms for all the time he could.
"Oh, no..." said Natalie. "What is it?" Rex replied. "I have to go..." she said. "It's okay, dear. I love you," he said. "I love you too," she replied.
Natalie woke from her nap. "Ugh. Why do I have to wake up?"
