Tahny

"Welcome to JaLia. How may I help you?" I asked folding a shirt neatly as I heard the bell chime as a costumer walked in.

"Hi I'm looking to return some jeans I bought a few days ago." I turned around to see a tall woman with long blond hair standing there with one of the store bags in her hand. "I can help you at the register. Just follow me." I walked quickly trying to wake myself up. Max had me up all night bothering me. He made me stay up with him since he couldn't sleep. If he wasn't touching or kissing on me he was trying to have me on a Netflix binge with him. I tried to stay up with him but I had to be here at ten to restock everything and open the doors by eleven.

"Is this an exchange or return?"

"I want to exchange these. Only if these pants come in a bigger size. These are a two and I think I might need a four?"

"Okay." I typed on the screen and made sure to let the stores system know I was returning the pants before tossing them in a bucket under the counter. "There's a shelf to your right with all the pants folded in order by price, color, and then size. Those exact ones you have are on there on the third shelf from the bottom or you could get a pair equal to or less than the ones you had, and we could give you the difference if they're less."

"Thank you I'll take a look." She walked away to the floor to ceiling length shelf that held hundreds of pairs of all our jeans. I watched her look through them since I have nothing better to do. I'm so mad I'm the only one of the floor today. On weekends we open late and close early. Which is fine but weekends are usually busy since people need outfits to go out in but it's been no traffic in here today.

The bell went off.

I spike to soon. A large group of girls  walked in.

"Welcome to JaLia's how may I help you guys." I put on a smile trying to hide the fact I'm dying inside to leave this boring ass job. "You can't, we come here like every other day. We know our way around." I gripped the top of the shirt rack trying not to say what I really wanted to say to her rude ass. "If you need anything let me know." I kept the smile and went back behind the register so I wouldn't run up on her. I'm not a violent person but I don't like mean people,  especially when in trying to help.

"She's rude." The woman with the pants said with a frown on her face. "Everyone isn't as nice as you unfortunately. Did you find every okay?" I got the scanner ready as she approached the counter. "Yes I did. I tried them on and they fit perfectly." I squinted a little bit since the ring on her finger blinded me.

Someone must love her.

"That's great I'm glad I was able to help you." She handed the pants to me and I scanned them and placed them in the bag. "These lip glosses here in this basket are two for five and a third one is free. All the money gets donated to the animal rescue team down the street from us."

"Yeah why not. Are they any good?"

"Yes, I have some on right now. I can't complain." She looked at me and picked up three from the basket. "I'll take these ones. I gotta stop coming in here before you get me to buy the whole store." I smiled and scanned the lip glosses and put them in a smaller bag to go in with the pants. I tapped around the screen to get her total. "Your total is $35.71. Will you be paying with cash, credit, or debit?"

"Debt." She reached into her purse and pulled out a gucci print wallet, followed by pulling out a black card and handed it to me. I swiped it and handed it back to her. "Receipt in the bag or with you?" "Bag please." I tossed it in and handed the paper bag to her. "Have a good day and see us again soon." She smiled as she walked away. "I definitely will." I sat on the little stool and waited for these loud ass girls to pick what they want. They probably don't have any money. The door chimed in and more people walked in.
