"Hi mama." Max said kissing his mother's cheek as he entered the hotel room. "Olivia let you out the house in regular clothes? Where are you going mister?" Amelia asked while closing the door. "Ha ha ha. You're a real comedian. If you must know me, my brothers, and all my groomsmen are chilling at Daniel's house tonight. Since his you know his birthday is this weekend and he'll be out of town with Danielle."

"I know I'm so sad I won't be able to sirens time Aug him. But it's good the two of them are getting some alone time." She went to the refrigerator and grabbed the bottle of champagne the hotel have her. "I'm gonna let you like I told the rest of your brothers don't be out to late tonight, you know we all have to be at your dad's house bright and early tomorrow morning. And God forbid one of you not be there because you know his ass will flip out and none of us will hear the end of it." Amelia said leading Max out to the balcony. "I know, I know. I wouldn't risk not showing up, getting two hour long lectures aren't my thing anymore." He said sarcastically.

Max kicked his shoes off and put his hat on the table. "So what's going on ma? I thought we were meeting somewhere else?" Amelia poured a little champagne in a glass she had grabbed from the cabinet for him. "I originally asked you to sit down with me at my usual spot Mi Casa but they're to many ears there. Tahny and I were there a couple of days ago to talk and I noticed a couple of your dad's guys at the bar. So I figured it would be better to talk here since I'm on the top floor with nobody else except for the young honeymooning kids across the hall."

Max kicked his feet up on the balcony railing getting comfortable. "You said you wanted to talk about Tahny right?"

"Yeah, I do. I've been putting this conversation on hold for a while now." Amelia took a large sip from her glass and sat it on the arm of the chair. "I'm just going to cut to the chase. You're about to get married to a beautiful young lady very soon and I know that person isn't Tahny, but I want you to open your eyes and realize seeing her and Javi will be damn near impossible. When you're married you can't go three days without coming home and say you were stuck at work. You have to come home every day and when you're not a work or in business meetings you spend the rest of your time with your wife-"

"What are you getting at mom? I thought you were cutting to the chase?" Max put his glass down and looked over at her in annoyance. Amelia drank some more to give her a little liquid courage. It's a hard conversation to have but someone needed to wake Max up. Who better to talk to him than his own mother?

"What I'm saying is, you can't sneak around with Tahny anymore sweety. I can see it in her eyes she's crushed by all this and she's struggling to move on. She told me not to say anything but she's about to start apartment hunting." He took his feet down and sat up in his seat. "You're lying." Amelia shook her head. "No I'm not." She turned in her chair and looked at him. "I've never lied to you or your brothers so I'm not about to start now over some shit like this. You hear me?" He nodded. "Good, so listen to what I'm saying to you. They can't stay in that big ol' condo for just the two of them. I'm sure it would be great for a nice young couple with no kids but that's not the case."

Max scuffed and crossed his arms.

"Max... You had to see this coming... You can't seriously think she'd stay there. Hell if I were her I'd do the same. It will be a fresh start for the big of them, you can't put dirty clothes on a clean body Max. NaTahny has to start over for the sake of you're son."

He frowned. "What does that mean?" He asked catching an attitude.

"It means she's taking Javier and raising him from now on. She's not going to keep living in fear anymore, I can't keep him forever, and she wants to raise him from now on and it's about time she does. I love my grandson but he needs his mom." Max opened his mouth to speak but she held up her index finger to silence him. "Let me talk. You're father will not find out about Tahny or Javi unless someone tells. And the only people who know about them are you, me, and Daniel. So don't worry about either one of us saying anything. I know this is hard honey but you and I have to let this go. I talked to Tahny and she understands perfectly that what you guys have going on has to stop as soon as you say I do."

"What am I gonna do then?! Just forget about them? Act like they don't exist?" Max shouted and stood to his feet. "I love Olivia I do but it'll never the amount to the way I feel about Tahny." Amelia stood and gently placed her hands on his shoulders. "I feel you Max, I understand, I get it. But you have to understand that you can't keep you're family anymore. It sounds harsh but it's true." Max looked away as tears welled in his eyes. "Like I said before you have a beautiful woman you're about to marry and and I know it hurts since it's not the woman you fell in love with and I'm sorry."

"I don't know if I can live with that. I wake up thinking about my son and I think about what life would be like if I could have things my way. I hope to wake up and Tahny will be laying next to me and our son sleeping between us but every morning I don't... And now in a few weeks I'll have to pretend I never met them. I can't just act like they don't exist because they do mom, they do. My whole world revolves around them and all of a sudden it doesn't anymore." Max wiped his nose with a sniff and then looked at his watch. "I'm gonna be late mom I gotta go." He wiped his eyes and kissed her forehead quickly before grabbing his shoes and leaving out in a hurry.

Amelia stood there and watched her son leave out of door. As hard as it was she had to address the elephant in the room. It needed to be done since the wedding is closer than it seems and she knew Max needed to reality check before that day comes.
