"Who's that nigga you just pulled up with?!" Tahny jumped in fear at Max's voice as she opened the door. He stood there with his arms crossed wearing an angry expression on his face.

She placed a hand on her chest feeling her heart thumping hard against her palm. "You just scared me. Can I get through the door first before you start anything?" Tahny passed Javier to Max hoping it would calm him down. "You shouldn't be worrying about who I hang around. How about you start this conversation over again a lot nicer. Like start by saying "hi NaTahny how are you?" Or you could've spoken to your son first before coming at my neck sideways like you lost your damn mind."

Tahny took her keys out the lock and on to the hook by the door. She went upstairs quickly to put on some more comfortable clothes, only for Max to follow behind her.

"Nah I'm not gonna start shit over. I asked you a question."

"If you must know his name is Michael. I've recently started talking to him." Tahny said calmly as she took her pants off and tossed them in the hamper before going to one of the boxes labeled "PJ's" and pulled out a pair of shorts.

"You fuckin him?" Max asked getting mad at how nonchalant she was.

Tahny took Javi from him and placed him in the animal printed walker that was in the corner of the room so he could play around while they talked.

"Max why would you even ask that? I was just having sex with you two weeks ago. Why would I be hopping onto someone new that fast?"

"Because we had sex the first time we met. You see we was fuckin right after you had Javi. So how do I know you not quick to jump into the next nigga?"

Tahny let out a sarcastic laugh. "I'm gonna act like I didn't hear you say that. I don't know why you're being like this you came here to talk not to talk down on me." She took her phone and wallet out her hoodie pocket and sat them on her dresser.

"I'm like this because my mom had to tell me about you moving. I didn't wanna believe it at first, but I came up in here and saw everything packed up and ready for you to go. Then you pull up kissing on someone else and having him play step dad to my kid. Why you are bringing OUR SON around him?!"

Tahny sat at the foot of her bed and counted to ten in her head trying not to snap off.

Why the fuck would Amelia tell him about me moving after she said she wouldn't say anything? I knew better than to tell her.

"First off lower your voice. You and I are both adults so we can use our inside voices to talk about this. Second of all Michael isn't playing step dad. What am I supposed to do wait six months before introducing him to my son-"

"Our son."

"Let me finish... when I first met him I had Javi with me and I'm not about to call Amelia for every time I need her to watch him. He is my son just as much as he is yours, so if I feel like bringing my son around another man I will. I met his daughter too so I'm a little bit more comfortable with bring Javi around him. He's a good guy. If he wasn't, which he is, I wouldn't be talking to him let alone bring our son along for the ride. And about the moving thing: I wanted to tell you but since I can't text you first because of obvious reasons; I'm not about to call up to your job and tell your assistant to relay a message to you every time I have to tell you something. I did that routine the last three months I was pregnant and I'm not doing it again."

"When were planning on telling me?"

"As soon as I found a place. Amelia and I went looking earlier this morning and I'm not going to tell her which apartment I picked, considering she can't keep a secret." She mumbled the last part to herself trying not redirect the conversation to his mom.
