Two days later...
"I know baby I know." I tried to rock Javi to sleep but he wasn't have it. I couldn't figure out why he was crying so much. I put him on his potty a few times, fed him twice in an hour, scratching his back so see if it was itchy, I gave him a long bath, I did all that and nothing worked. Until he tossed his head back crying and I saw some new baby teeth were coming in and he's not liking it to much.
He's been crying for three hours straight and I'm trying to be patient with him but I'm having the worst cramps ever and Im not in the mood for all this, but I have no choice, his needs before mine. I wish someone would rock me and give me an hour long bath to make feel better. I put him on my hip and walked downstairs slowly as the feeling of my hips burning kept me from going any faster. I kissed his little cheeks as I laid him to my chest.
"Deja de llorar Javier." I whispered to him, telling him to stop crying as I turned into the kitchen and sat him on the counter as I figured out what to do next. I texted Amelia a few minutes a go to ask her what to do and she told me to rub a little alcohol on his gums to numb them, but I'm not liking that idea to much. Besides I'm not really a drinker so the only alcohol I do have is a small bottle of 1800 and It's pushed all the way back in one of these cabinets and I can't reach it.
I paced back and forth trying to figure out what to do to when I remember something. I looked in the pantry and looked for the box with the teething bread in it. I remember Hayden have them to me since Jahlia didn't like them. It's like really hard bread and it's supposed to be a snack for your baby and it scratches their gums at the same time. I'm hoping and praying this works.
Please Lord let this work.
"Look stinky, look what I have." I pulled one out of then box and he saw I have food and his crying quickly faded and his little bottom lip was poked out. I gave him some kisses and he didn't look so sad anymore. "You just wanted mommy to give you some love. That's it." I held the bread up so he could see it. This is el pan, bread." I handed it to him and he threw on the floor by my left foot. "Really? That's not supposed to be on the floor." I dusted it off and took a bite. Wow, this is hard. "You're supposed to eat. Mmm, look mommy likes it. This is actually good. I might keep this one." He started to reach for it but I moved my hand. "You throw it again you won't get it."
I got a new one from the box since this one was on the floor. He took it from me curiously and put it in his mouth like I did. He gummed at it for a minute and hasn't spit it out so he must like it. I picked him up and put him in his highchair while he was distracted and I got myself some medicine to calm these cramps down.
After taking care of that I felt my phone vibrate in my hoodie pocket. "What is it now?" I whined and looked at my phone to see it was Michael texting me. "Oh shit." I opened my phone to see what he said.
We actually hung out the night after I got off work. After I picked Javi up from my sisters house I ran into him at this grocery store. After we did a little food shopping I went home to change and Javi and I met up with him and his daughter at Mi Casa since he works there the food was basically free. I didn't get home till maybe midnight since we were having such a good time and Javi actually was interacting with Jasmine.
The whole time we were there we were just laughing the whole time and we got to know each other a little bit. It's been a while since I had a good time just talking to someone. When it was time to close Michael walked me to my car and waited till I had my Javier strapped in and made sure I got in safely before I left and told me to text him when I got home. I came home in a really good mood and I was more happy that Javier actually wasn't being shy and acting all scared since Jasmine was around.
